Post by: Riverrat81 on April 28, 2015, 06:19:01 PM
Looking for cad drawings for 2" or 1 7/8 rail kit and motor plates for BBC . I need to move the motor forward 12" and my stringers where notched for the old back seats so my old rail kit won't work . Any help thanks !

Every rail kit I have built has been different, so IMHO, there is no standard rail kit.  I can give you drawings to meet your specifications natively in SolidWorks, MasterCAM, or AutoCAD.  Really, a rail kit needs to be fit to the boat.

I would consider dropping the rails below the cutout portion of your stringers.  You might need to trim the vertical legs of the rails for it to fit.

I would like to get it in the autocad form. I just want to be able to fab my own motor plates.

Yeah we are putting the rails to the floor to clear the notch so we can move the motor forward the 12 inch I need

Any dimensions you have would make a more accurate drawing unless you want to take care of that yourself.
