Title: UGLY 460 needs help
Post by: GlassCutter on February 16, 2011, 06:26:52 AM
Trailer rehab has started on the Spectra, thanks to River Dad.  I opened the engine cover though and DAMN its ugly under there.  So let's start at the top.   Anybody got a good aftermarket intake or a good, ready to run Holley?   Lemme see 'em!

PICS! We wanna spend your money for you!

Not only that, we wanna see just HOW ugly..........

I have a tunnel ram for it!  >:D  How about a 10-71 Blower?  Actually I might be talked out of a blue anodized or powder coated Performer RPM I have laying sround also........Only ran on Moo maybe 3 times before the upgrade to a tunnel ram ::)

Holleys I have everywhere.........I have a couple 750 marine carbs, single feeds and dual feeds. One dual feed in particular I got from Jason last spring or summer came off a running engine and looks pretty clean.

WTF is wrong with you guys?   Why do you want to see an ugly ass engine.   I will say that it has been covered up with a tarp that doesn't breathe.  A few weeks ago when I opened the engine cover, there was a bit of rust but puddles of water in all the crevices of the intake.  Since then they have dried up but things remain less than pretty.  The jump seats seem to be where the battery sits, and they are still holding a gallon of water.  Can't understand how they remain watertight, but they are.   You guys really don't need to see my "dirty laundry" do ya?

ONe other question for the crew:  If I start sanding to bring back the shine, how do I address the areas around the edge of the deck that has the factory non-slip texture on it?  Just sand it the same doesn't seem quite right.
And if you REALLY want pics yer gonna have to ask River D for 'em since he has the boat at his secret lab in Elsinore.

I don't think I have ever seen a polished waterpump before.    I thought going fast was the water pump.
