Hey guys,
Im looking for a 1310 style U joint that can be seperated in order to run the engine off the hose. I have one right now but I dont trust it, and its cant be seperated. Does anyone have one in good shape theyd be willing to part with?

Maddog, drive down to mission viejo and have drivelines unlimited redo it. I spent a whopping 60 bucks and I have a like new shaft that is really smooth (had it on the lake for the first time yesterday).

I was going to take it to inland empire drive lines, but the one that I have isnt the one you can unbolt the halves in the middle and run the engine on the hose, its pretty much 1 piece.

i have three of them, you can take your pick, $100.00 each

Andy, I'm sure someone you know has a vise Omar has one I'm quite sure. That is all it takes to rebuild your 1310.
Press out the old U-Joints, Press in the new. Quick and easy!
Why buy one you don't know is "better" than yours?
Just my .02, but call me and I'll walk you through it, it is EASY! Save a buck dude!
Why halve it in the middle anyway? asking for more trouble if you ask me.

Let me try to elaborate. My last post sounded a bit "short" and I didn't mean it to.
The better, and really ONLY reason to start a jet boat off the hose is to make sure it'll start and idle. You cannot tune it to perfection off the hose. And here's why.
The engine is going to perform miuch differently under load than it will in the garage for one. Two, if you try and do this with the drive connected, then yes, you're going to do much more damage to the drive than you would gain. A disconnected driveline does nothing for you in tuning a boat, IMHO.
My point is this. If it starts, and you can get it to idle, get it in the water, under load. That's the ONLY way to tune it to it's potential
Just my .02, I'm sure some onw will chime in and prove me wrong.

i was just thinking bout seperating it to break the engine in, and in the case of sucking up a rope or something the joint is supossed to break in the middle instead of messing up ur crank, or so I have been told, correct me if im wrong.

Uh.....I dont think so Tim

With all due respect.....NOT!!!
The driveline has absolutely nothing to do with breaking away, I would never "split the joints to run the engine on the hose, there is still too much stuff flying around and just dangerous.
If you ever got a ski rope stuck in the pump, it will literally wrap around the shaft like a winch and simply stall/kill the motor, shouldn't break anything though. I have literally removed 40' of rope from a pump that had seized up and other than completely polishing everything on the driveshaft and generating some pretty good swear words, there was no other damage to the pump.
There is really no advantage in the bolt together DL IMO...

OK, so that all being said, if you need a 1310, I have one I'll send you. I would put new joints in it, it came from the Submarine so I know not what condition the u joints are in. If you have a 1310, use it!
Yeah, it's a major PITA to lift the engine to install/uninstall it, but brother, don't shortcut yourself.
Now, Anyone got the bigger one?? I'ma thinking I may need it.......lol ;D
