Title: WTB: Relief valve or Prime a jet to let air out of pump
Post by: PEVCO on August 01, 2014, 09:16:28 AM: Looking for a Relief valve to let air out of pump when putting boat in water with droop snoop.
Keep getting air lock .
Please let me know if you might have one etc.

Is your pump cavitating?

Completely different deal. This screws into the top of the bowl.

JBP has them in stock. I have used just a 1/4" ball valve before. You can also just install an 1/8" mpt 90 to flare and leave it open or throw a cap on it once the boat is in the water.

What is the symptom though Im curious. How do you know its happening?

With a full droop you'll get an air pocket in there and the boat won't move for 20 seconds or so. The prime a jet lets that air get out.

Now just have to figure where to install it.
