I decided to build a 406ci. high reving small block chevy or the Tahiti. I need a SB Front mount and SB Headers Bassett or Rewarder and I have both in BBC to trade. Pics coming tomorrow. The Bassetts are in good shape could use chrome or ceramic coat. Have holes for water inj. I am waiting for the lines from the guy I bought my boat from. Flange is great shape. Front mount is a Glenwood cast alum. in awesome shape. let me know if you have any or know where some are.
Thanks
Jason

why are you going this route?? just curious

I took a ride in a Avenger jet on sunday with a 383 and it hit 74 on GPS. Great torque and fast reving. Hole shot was awesome just a great ride. After crunching the #'s I could build an aluminum headed completely forged rotating assembly SB for the same price I can build an ok 454. I have a standard 4 bolt main 350 and a littlefield 8-71 blower (needs rebuild) in the garage. So in the long run I will have more of a "bulletproof" motor and save a little weight and gas. I have rode in 3 jets with nice SB and all hauled ass and impressed me.

Quite a few of the whitewater boats run SB and they all haul ass. Being you have a good base of parts for a SB, I most likely would go that route if I were in your shoes. The two hundred pound weight savings will be big on a daily basis, but as far as gas mileage, not too sure. You will have to rev the engine higher to make the power that the BB will do just off idle. Rule of thumb if you run a BB with an A, you will need a B with the SB, to get the same performance. SB's love rpm. I am not saying that a SB can't make the same power, but I am saying the SB will have to turn a higher rpm to do so.

I don't know the year of your small block, but have you checked your front mount to see if it fits your small block?

no its at the machine shop I will try it as soon an I get it back. Thanks for the suggestion.

I wonder what impeller the SB likes

I wonder what impeller the SB likes
From what I've read ??? the small block makes it's power in a higher RPM than the big block, therefore you go with a B or C impeller. :)

kyles 350 chevy had a B in the pump.....and we're putting a B back in it.

My small block will be around 500 ponies I have an A impeller do I need to change for the RPM difference?? Thats gunna suck :P
My motor is a 383 stroke callies crank, rods,JE pistons, undecided on which aluminum heads and a 100 shot in nitrous. Edelbrock performer RPM air gap intake, gotta figure out which carb I am gonna need. My pump is the new JI with A impeller with droop and diverter. HMMM what should I do??

do you still have the headers?
