I was foreseeing an issue with callouts, but figured it out on my own.
As much as we want to promote movement on the list, it's important we keep some sort of formal call out structure. In the case of Tim calling out Dewey on behalf of Johnny Montour here in the site, it wasn't a valid call out as Johnny should have done it himself. BUT Johnny did call him out in person (otherwise they wouldn't have lined up).
There is this fine line we will have to work with in situations where 2 guys are at the river and decide to race for a list spot. I don't want formalities of call outs to hold up list activity as long as both parties agree it's for a list spot and report back the results.
The delicate situation here is the #10 spot. If you are the #10 guy, you need to respect formal call outs before acknowledging any other callouts. The #10 spot can only be called out one at a time. If you are in the #10 spot, and someone calls you out in person at an event or something, you do not have to race them right then and there. You have 3 weeks to race. This is to prevent from everyone on the beach lining up calling out for #10 and making him race each person who speaks up.
Also, in another example, if you are number 5, and number 6 calls you out, you cannot call out number 4 in the mean time. If you are in an agreement for a called out race, you cannot make another call out until your race takes place.
I am doing my best to keep it a level playing field and also not limit list activity, but we all gotta work together to make this work.

So, if I make the next trip and who ever is the gate keeper is and is willing to race, then we can report the outcome after and it's lagit ??

Also as long as there is no pending call outs here on the site for that spot. As of now, Izzy's callout for gatekeeper (currently Johnny M at #9) is official and pending.

No. It's not out the window. Think of it as securing your call out. It will hold priority over someone calling out someone in person and snaking your spot. If it comes to it, I'll manage the #10 spot myself and all challenges have to go through me for the #10 spot to avoid the confusion as it seems no one here is understanding how this works out.
All other spots will fend for themselves. But know if you get called out by the guy below you, you can't call out the guy above you until you race the call out made against you. This will promote online call outs.....unless you're wanting to climb up the list and other boats are present. Of course the other boats can decline racing you that day as they get 3 weeks to race you.
No rules are out the window. Just need to fine tune them.
