SCJB top 10 list.
« Reply #1050 on: October 28, 2015, 11:32:59 AM »
Ok guys trying to look ahead into the November 7th shin dig, on the 7-8th the will be having the Elsinore gran prix which consist of closed streets down main and as far as I can tell the only spots it hits the lake would be near the canal that we are not allowed in anyways. Hopefully police boats will not be out. Trying to go through Lake Elsinore rules to find out what we can legally get away with and have found nothing legally saying side by side "drag racing" prohibited, considered it is after September 30th which means high speed zone is open. Jake, Corey, and David you guys cannot run considering all three of your boats are excess of the 150mph speed limit. If anyone can find anything saying different please share. Rules do state any boat in the excess of 80 mph driver is required to wear a life jacket and helmet. I know not all of us have helmets but please wear a approved life jacket if your gonna make a pass. As far as day activities we are looking to launch around 8am. Hoping water conditions are prime. All I can say if it's blown out worst case we go to the cove and kick back a couple cold ones with our buds. As stated above in previous post this is a open invitation and does not count towards the top 10 list. Unless you are on the list and would like to move up. I hope to see a lot of you guys out there. Should be a fun day at Elsinore if racing goes on or not.

Due to Cali law & crap I would suggest that I'm simply there to run my boat hard and if someone else happens to be running their boat hard over to my left or right then so be it. If this happens to be you we should keep a safe distance between us in case of a failure that would cause either of our boats to veer towards the other.

I for one don't go full throttle unless I see absolutely nothing out in front of me.

I assume I'll be out in the high speed zone where we're allowed to run as fast as we can. I'll probably grab the range finder out of my golf bag so I know how far those big buoys are from where I start. Safety thing of course  :sly:

I will admit I like the water at the opposite end of the lake from the West Marina, not sure how else to describe the location. Nothing much for markers to gauge distance.

Life jacket always, helmet never.

Have fun and be safe     afterwards

Where's everyone launch? I've only been to the West Marina, narrow channel out, but great ramp.

I can almost guarantee there will NOT be a cop boat on the water Nov 7th or anytime this time of the year with the exception of the TPM the 2nd weekend of January, last time i was there at this time of the year with Jamie Wedmore in his Eliminator bubble deck and Josh with his Blue and white rogers we all went over to the cove, hung out at the mouth opening and did a few passes from the opening of the cove out towards the middle of the lake and it worked fine, yes its a 5mph zone right there but....... >:D ;D
Im still up on the fence if I will go or not.
