. Flaggers,  buoys what happened to River racing ?

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats

To answer your question:
When there started to be "rules" and tv show style racing.

To me, river racing has always been, show up, pick your race, run what you brung, and hope you got enough to win. The "list" of who is faster/slower will sort itself out pretty quick.

To me... having a start and a finish is not at all a bad idea. As it stands... how can you win a race when there is no finish line and the race is over when the guy who happens to jump out in front decided to lift?

. I think it has always been the case. But most of the races I have seen are pretty straight up winner and loser. How much they won by has always been a debate. I'm sure there is plenty of races won at 600' that would have been different at 800'.  I think starting lines finish lines all have a place just not in a river race. My boat leave good for a 19 winger but I can't give Dennis a chance to move on me as he will be hard to run down. I think our boat are close and will be a good race but it is going to be in the start. I think it will be a good time anyway

Well... A river race also doesn't have rules as to who can run who, where,
and etc. i know i'm all sorts of fucked up here... I mean i still remember going from a roll and you went "from this outcrop in the tulies to past that log on the sandbar" as refrence points of a start and finish.... But then again, that was Yuma and it sure seemed a lot more like street racing that I remember from back in the day.

Went to go get gas in my Tahoe last night and it's dead, wtf, oh yea wife used it to go to exercise class last week. Interior light button on, oh well. Battery 5 years old, not taking a charge, replace it.

Go to get gas and the low coolant comes on, wtf. Put coolant in at station, driving home starts to over heat, wtf.

Get home see the leak, but it's dark. Area of water pump. Will fix today.

Guess I have to thank her, had she not used it I would've over heated on the way tomorrow and that would be the day for me  :-*

As far as the start - finish, I prefer to be looking at the boat next to me at the start. If I nod the throttle goes when my chin reaches bottom, If the other guy nods I hit it when I see the nod start. This probably get's the start close enough. Like stated it's just a river race.

For me the finish line has to be there whether it's in my head at 5 or 6 seconds or a no wake buoy that would be off to our right. 800ft or 266 yards as I like to think about it isn't very far. Beyond that the faster boats get well into the triple digit scary zone.

Be safe and have Fun! I know I will.  8)

. What MPH did you run. How does you boat leave from a complete stop.

Don't have MPH numbers, phone doesn't work well with any gps app.

I can go full throttle from a dead stop and it leaves hard. I drop my PD to the bottom notch then move it to the 4th notch where I have it set for top end.

I feel like this is my advantage against the nitrous boats, thing is once we get going how quickly can they run me down?

I looked at some video I made at the river and I covered a lot of water at 6 seconds. I thought I ran longer, but this was my comfort zone, never full throttle for more than that.

I got some bad news for you the NOS boats you speak of are both wingers your not going to leave on them from a dig it will be the other way around I'm sure.  You may want to get your feet wet with the Hankey boat first.

Yea it's all speculation on my part. I'm coming because I simply want to know.

This will give me something to think about this winter. I built this thing in my garage, I enjoy the tinkering aspect of it all.
