you are correct I paid 6k for my motor. But knowing what's inside it and getting a quote from Bostick I couldn't build another for anything less than 15-20k

That's what I'm getting at and I love you dennis but you can't down a guy for wanting to build something different and improve the sport overall. It's not all about a big block, nos, blown, turbo, or the top ten, Right or am i out of line? I just like jet boats and the community so who am i?

Not downing anybody, I've had tried my best to help everyone, from blown deals to Ls motors, I'm no motor builder but done my best to give everyone the best advice I can on the site. But just like you said Who am I? 1 year ago I was a nobody, so pretty sure I'm about done with this and gonna stay low for awhile, I've been message and told in person enough times I talk to much shit and my boats a joke, in reality I don't know much about this so in done. No body ask me for advice anymore. But on the upside I can pump the hell out of a shit house, seems to be the only thing no one talks shit about me behind my back 👍🏻👍🏻

Pretty sure everything I've had to say is to your face. Don't know why you are worked up, you are helpful and like I said I love you, you b are one of the greatest guys I know, I Just think the reason I started to follow SCJB is because it's a friendly community not a big motor comp.

Just do what you do and enjoy it. At the end of the day you have a cool boat that you love. Like every sport there will always be someone lurking and hating. There will always be someone with a bigger piggy bank and a faster boat. There will always be someone that has more knowledge. It doesn't matter. It's all about having fun.

There is always going to be shit talkers its comes down to the same reasons every time. Not sure what we have done wrong to Dustin but if you let one guy change you, you lose. This is just my opinion and I take my hat off to anyone trying to build there own motor. But I think what some people are trying to say is turbos are harder than shit on motors and they would hate for some one to build something that someone has put there hard work and money into and have it blow up or even worse make your boat do something unpredictable. Is it possible to build a cheap turbo motor of course I've seen it done and ran bat out of hell. Might It be a ticking time bomb of course but what hard running motor isn't. But ones with high dollar parts might just get you a few extra minutes on that timer. I think all and all they just don't want to see anybody get hurt or waist there hard earned money. Boats not going to shut down the same at 100 compared to 60mph. There is a reason why engine builders are in business and why some charge way more than others. But they also all started somewhere. I saw some guys a few years back that did exactly that with the intention of towing it back at the end of the day.

I am envious of the good cheap fun they had.

I know some guys did that for a tv show and mag write up. Towed there boat to the lake pulled the motor out of the truck slapped it in the boat drove all day then put it back in the truck to drive home.

But in all seriousness I think it's cool when people want to do things themself and work with the budget they have. Although I would rather build a little milder engine with bulletproof parts for what it is than try to go faster than my wallet will allow me to do correctly and safely. I don't think anyone is trying to be negative or discouraging on here, it's just being honest and trying to keep people safe. Looking forward to seeing what everyone builds this winter!

That was a cool show, it was Mike Finnegan and Frieburger on Roadkill. It was a very nicely built LS3 though, not some stocker.

They brought their boat out with a Sea-Doo and from what I understand, killed an engine every day out and towed it back every night.
