Title: Spammers Banned
Post by: Brad @ SCJB on August 27, 2007, 12:29:23 AM: Most of you are unaware of what goes on behind the scenes here at socaljetboats.com. I try to make everything seamless, every once n awhile things get unnoticed and fall through the cracks.....

....about 5 minutes ago I banned a spammer....as I set up the rules to make sure he never returns, i noticed some surprising numbers...

These are the ban triggers for email address domains. I have banned the entire country of Russia (.ru), India (.in) and China (.cn) because A) I can assure you no one from china or russia even knows what a jetboat is - and B) I just get overwhelming amounts of spam from these countries.

I added .ru about a month or 2 ago and China was added friday night....look at the amount of attemps have been made since I set up the rules to ban them ::)

This is a ban on a host 'keymachine.de' ...cant remember when I added this one:

...and this is todays ban log.... about 20 attempts to spam this site in a 24 hour period :o

I dont know why these guys attempt so hard to spam forums. I know theres plenty of forums out there that arent tightly moderated and possibly forgotten about....and forums are easily indexed by search engines so they are easy to find and once they do post their spam, its in every search engine once the site is crawled by their robots.
