Thinking about voing this saturday to lake elsinore. I've never been there. Can you guys give me any tips/pointers about this lake? What can i expect? Where should i go? Where should i avoid? Thanks for your help? Plan on doing some tubing and a little . Where should we beach?

I went there today at 4:30 to test out my new boat and it was windy and choppy. Did one lap and strolled the cove. Had a lice doing donuts for 5 minutes by the launch while his homeboys jack knifed the trailer up and down the launch.
-
Yea that lake is way better for an early morning run. Its starts to get rough around 12 and by 4:30 i could only imagine.

As of this year at Elsinore the day passes say tubing is strictly prohibited. Just a heads up. Probably be fine during the week but the weekend there has been quite a few police on the water patrolling and stopping people.

That might help you.

USC victory, I saw you guys out there yesterday. Nice boat.

Towing toys is and has been a no no for decades. You will not get away with it anytime between April and October. They have volunteers with boats and binoculars all over the place. You never can tell who is watching and they can have you cited at the ramp. Always windy by afternoon time. Saturdays are usually less busy than Sundays. In the summer the ramp on the west end can get very slippery, 4WD is suggested. The city ramp is much steeper but grooved for traction. Despite appearances the water won't kill you but I wouldn't drink it. Oh and I think the speed zone is now only unlimited during certain days of the week.

Lake Piru is the only local lake you can tow tubes at that I know of. Since they have outlawed alcohol on the lake in recent years, I can only assume there is no more fun permitted whatsoever.
Haven't been there in about five years. Last time I was there I was drinkin a beer towing my girlfriend on an innertube in my previous boat. Nobody was hurt. Awesome place to go, but elsinore is close and convenient.

I Read on silverwood lakes web site you can have towables there as long as it wasn't a home made one. Haha
-
raginaquaholic. Thanks. The boat in your Avatar Looks familiar from out there. Thats a nice boat. Your boat looked like it was running good. You were headed towards RoadRunner ramp and looked like it was haulin ass.

Yea that was me, I was out there when you guys were launching. I would have liked to hang out with you guys. But I was out there switching tanks and the other tank seemed clogged. So had to head in before running out of gas. Gonna try to fix the problem tomarrow. Maybe you guys might go out monday or tuesday & we can hook up.
-
Let me know when you go out... Maybe i can head out and meet up with you guys

This is true .

I most likely will not be out this week. Crazy busy at work and the choke on the Holley is causing me some major issues. Contemplating a rebuild or a new carb. We oughta try and plan a day though.
-
Not going to happen for me today either. Change of plans & still haven't checked the problem with the other tank. Need to drain the tank and clean it out. Hopefully that will solve the problem. :banghead:

Thunder in the channel is happening this weekend. So it will be packed
-
True... You know i went out to thunder in the channel last year. Was cool to watch but i got bored after a while. The boss (GF) told me it was my ADHD kicking in but i just told her i have a hard time paying attention for long periods of time and sitting still is just to hard to do :screwy:

I am going try and find a way to go. It gives me 4 days to try and reschedule my Saturday.

Well it's a dirty ass lake but it's coo to go boating .. Not reall a noise restriction .. Lil pricy to launch
-
hey el majado did you ever take your boat out ? im the one who sold you my single axle trailer.
-
Hey Jake. I never went to Elsinore. After research and reading opinions i decided it wasnt for me. Too far to deal with all the restrictions. Been to Silverwood a few times this year. Also Havasu and Parker. Might go to puddingstone soon to testthe boat before i go to AVI July 21 weekend. I'll pm u if we go to puddingstone...Tubing is allowed at Silverwood. Never been hassled for red cups or blue cans at Silverwood. It gets windy though. And beaches are a little rough and rocky. But its fun despite its size. I recommend getting a reservation for boat use. Great place to go if. You're from east LA county or IE: its close! !!!!
-
yeah i wanted to try silverwood but i hear you need to be there at 53o in the moring to make sure you get in. i guess they only allow a certain amount of boats on the lake. im heading out tomorrow night to havasu for the 4th. ill be in havasu july 27th through the 30th for my b day or i would go up the weekend before. yeah let me know when you head over to puddle town. im only a couple mins from there so ill take my float out there. you got my number
