You cant really see it that well but I have a 1* wedge down on there now just to make the transfer of water smoother on the inside leaving me with a total of 3* up wedge . I'll run it for now and see what happens . Maybe I can get my hands on a snoot to see if that gains me anything and if it does then I'll make that purchase . Maybe I'll just buy one anyways . We'll see what the Ol' pocket book says .
Oh yeah . I would also like to thank Hallett Dave for his out of the box thinking ;)

The cones are gone but during the winter months it is open 7 days a week. I have heard that on the weekdays it is open just not sure.

The speed limit around the outside is 35 there is no speed limit in the middle there never has been and we do 65-70 by the cops and they just watch there just there to bust the seadoo riders going the wrong wayRead the paper work they give is says different. Most every one leaves the cove three sheets to the wind but that not legal either.

If you actually go up to Silverwood today, let me know how that overall experience was. I was told by a number of people that with boats set up like ours they will give us the real stink eye and hassle us about noise and watch like a hawk for speeding. Also how anal are they about the mussel inspection?, and would you go back up there again? If all went well, I could join you and the others perhaps next time.

Really it's a nice spot.

How's the water level been? Last time we dragged prop with a I/O 19ft Bayliner coming through no wake zone at west marina. Thinking about testing new eng out this coming weekend at Elsinore. Let me know. Thanks

Water level is still pretty low. West marina is a little tight coming in or out on the crowded weekend. Haven't had any problems but I have a jet! Good luck

Thanks man. Wanna do a ride plate and a few things I'd like to see 90 in it no reason motor shouldn't pull it just the hull and pump setup holding me back. I saw 83mph today with lil chop and alone in the boat. So I'm pretty close. Next weekend I should be out again no reason not too cheap easy fun with the boy

When that thing goes bad it cause the oil pump and tube to suck air which loose prime . Like a straw at the bottom of a big gulp" . From the dealer it $ 2

Went out today couldn't wait to test the boat. Minor issues held me back finally got in water about 2pm ran a few laps. Dranks a few beers in the cove. The drive back was brutal white caps soaking wet but boat ran good. The Place diverter payed was worth its weight today....One pic of the boat in thw onky sunshine we had

I just meant we were either running the boat or out floating. It was the maiden voyage of my dad's new boat. Here's a pic of he and my mom. With the terrible visibility we didn't want to risk ruining a prop or outdrive. I'll cruise my jet in there no problem. That's awesome you hung in there through the afternoon wind.

I'm thinking about being on the water at 8am for some test runs.
Installed new GPS this past winter, 1st trip to river it lost data every time I started to move. Autometer sent me a new antenna.
Made a few set up changes after meeting with Chris at B1 to pick up my new loader.
I would prefer to do this with a few boats around that know what's going on. Just in case something breaks I would prefer not to be out there alone.
Anyone?

Looks like this chart tells me lake is at 16ft deep, am I right? Don't really know if the bottom is flat across the entire lake.

I can, but the traffic between the lake and myself is too much.
Do us a favor. Take 20ft of fishing line or rope and a weight, you may use less than half that. Drop it overboard in a few places to give us a depth reading please :beer:
I've tried to find the depth online and Canyon lake is the only lake they take weekly readings. Looks to me like Elsinore preferred depth is 17ft and at 32ft it starts to discharge through the outflow channel.
If it's 8ft deep 25% now then is the base flat all the way across?
UPDATE: I spoke to West Marina, their ramp is still open and the city measured the channel to 6-7ft. Stated over 10ft in lake itself, not 100% on that info.

Damn.. a few of us were planning on going out this sunday now im all nervous about knockin the prop off my flatty, we were out on easter and it was fine..

I'm right there with you. I"m trying to find historical data on lake levels to compare it to when I went in March but I can't find anything that is semi current. And the stuff I did find is a few months out of date.
I'm thinking I will still go but it will be with a stick to find the shallow spots.... hopefully.

Cove was "closed" and had a sign stating so but the cops said that it is a do "at your own risk" thing and would not be ticketing boats for going in there. Plenty of boats made it back including some v-drives and other prop boats with no problems.
Cops did mention that if the lake drops another foot they shut the entire lake down, just FYI.

Weather reports show 8 mph winds at 3pm and 15 mph at 5pm then starts getting less mph from there. So 15 mph max on Sunday. I'm gonna leave my house in Fontana at 7:30, I have a reservation so less line. I plan on leaving lake at 2:30-3pm

It was mostly bass boats floating around the outside of the lake. Not many people out, but it was a weekday. It's a small lake so it'll get crowded and choppy quick.

So between parris and pudding stone what the deal on testing boats their like speed limits and what if your boat is real loud like has zoomies I really just need to get it wet to test a couple things nothing crazy ?????
Perris requires mufflers and will probably hate zoomies. They also won't let you in if there is a single drop of water anywhere on your trailer, boat, and anything inside your boat like anchors and ropes.

Clean boat!! Yea definitely go to perris next time man, just make sure the boat is dry, like completely dry... dry ropes and everything and anything in the ski compartment on the floor... it's clean though and not crowded at all

Water quality is a lot better than last summer... water is higher than it has been in years, watch fencing and trees when pulling up to shore, get to know the lake. U couldnt see your feet before, oh and the cove is super full

Is there beach launching at all there? I read you can launch a PWC from one of the camp sites but not a boat. I haven't ran this boat yet and I need to run it on the trailer for a bit but I don't want to piss off the ramp officials.. any suggestions? Also I got tagged last Sunday at Castaic for having a small bead of hose water in bilge. Does this mean I can't go to Elsinore this weekend? Any info will help. I am new to California.Elsinore dont check boat for water...launch on side of dock in La Laguna and tie a ripe to it and tug it far up the dock and tie up...that way u dont suck up sand!!! Police not patrolling yet👍

I saw you idling through the cove on Sunday and did a double take. At first glance, I said to my wife, "hey, check out that cool Hallett." Then I noticed the turbo motor and went, "hey, that has a turbo motor . . . cool!"
There were a lot of decent boats out on Sunday.

I've had many people say a lot of different things about it, good and bad. I figured I would give it a shot before drilling a 1" hole in the bottom of the boat for a force fed pick up.

Went down there, way to windy and heavy chop for the first time in with the new floatYeah it was, but the West side of the lake wasn't nearly as bad. I did one full lap, but on the second one I went halfway and turned around, came back on the West side. I was the only out there so.........
