Title: How is Lake pyramid?
Post by: colew500 on June 24, 2017, 01:17:50 AM
Im thinking about heading over to lake pyramid this weekend as Elsinore is looking way too green for me. Does anyone know what time i should get there by? I heard they reach full capacity pretty fast on the weekends but i have never been. I also heard that Castaic isnt so bad either.

Pyramid is high elevation, my boat hates it, get there bright and early as it is the only local lake that allows Pwc to have full access

Ive been there 3 or 4 times. Its a pretty nice lake. Definitely get there early on the weekend. Every time I have been there, Ive pulled up at around 5:15 am and I was probably the 15th to 20th truck in line. Gates open at 6 but they also let anyone staying at the campground in first. They weren't doing mussel inspections the last time I went about 4 years ago, but I hear they are now so, make sure everything is dry, including the pump. If you do go, my favorite spot is just passed the no wake zone make a right, youll see 2 coves, take the left one. All of the way in the back, there is a dock, picnic tables with shade and bathrooms too.

Was there 3 weeks ago. Pretty intense inspection. We passed. Sheriff was all over the boaters like white on rice. Don't risk drinking a beer. Got real windy in the afternoon. All in all, was a good day. Water was down about 5 feet. Castaic is full and a lot closer.
