Here's someone's observations from 2013. Doubt it's gotten better.

Cool part is you can crap in the yard and save money on the sewage bill.

Sounds like a great place for another SCJB meet. Cheap and we'll gave the place to ourselves!

This is one of many write ups-

http://www.amusingplanet.com/2013/07/salton-sea-accidentally-created-lake.html (http://www.amusingplanet.com/2013/07/salton-sea-accidentally-created-lake.html)

I don't think I'll be going there any time soon or ever.

I'd rather drag my boat to marine stadium (325 miles), and go to Catalina. (26 miles)

That should be a socal event.

As a kid I recall cut cut feet and hot hot hot. Who knows I may have still have toxins from it. I wonder if my feet were cut by the dead fish or salt. Fond memories Lol!

I circle raced there in the early 1970's

Was it a cesspool then? or a decent venue?
How long was the track?

can't remember to much, I think the wind came up and got the rest of the races cancelled, it had a smell but was able to stand it.
