It gets pretty windy at silverwood, and that's most days. Its a little drive to get up there too, tight corners on a two lane road. Used to go up there a lot as a kid, so tried it out last summer. Didn't care for it. But to each their own....some
People don't mind those things.

Also, from what I've heard, you need to call ahead and make a reservation.
They only allow so many boats on the lake at one time

I guess the better question is ... would it be more worth it just to go to Elsinore ?

tight turns and two lane highway👎👎👎. I fish out there and rarely see jets. Never seen any with ot headers out there. Strict on the quagga mussels inspection. Otherwise it's a quite lake until the weekend. It does get pretty windy out there but I think that has past for a few days. I live here in Victorville

I go all the time. It does get windy towards the afternoon. Get there early enough the lake is pretty nice to ride in. I have OT headers and they never give me or anybody els I go with any issues. If your trying just go out for the day and mess around its a perfect place. The only time you really need a reservation is on big holiday weekends. Make sure your boat is free of any outstanding water because they will band you from the lake for a week. God luck!!!!

I live I'm Victorville and go out to silverwood. I take the back way through summit. That avoids the freeway and the curvy roads. About 20 minutes tops.
During the summer months you have to get there by 6 or 7 because the trailer parking gets full which is why they don't let anymore boats in. It does get windy in the afternoon. And there isn't much beach area, but you can pull the inflatables and it's pretty peaceful. Rangers do watch for speed there.
You can get reservations at reserveamerica.com for a 5$ fee but it's worth it.
Lake Elsinore is worth the trip
Just my opinion. It's an hour and a half without traffic 15fwy all the way
