The irvine company said No more side by side racing after last years deal. The may race is now at Bluewater. :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

Yeah, the last time I was there was in Aug., and it was not looking good. There was over one hundred boats in the cove, but the water was really low, still had a pretty good time though. I'm just not real keen on the gross, green water. I'll make an acception for the TPM though.

It's kinda funny that the only lake in the whole southwest part of the U.S. with a dedicated Speed Zone and no one will use it. On a January day it is just as likely to be as smooth as the cove. Instead a bunch of knuckleheads will try to be Ricky Racer for a day while kinda forgetting the whole reason for being there. Somebody is going to get hurt one of these years.

You're right, we all know all it takes is one moron to screw up a good thing for everyone, comon sence is key. If someone see's some idiot doing something really stupid, they need to gather up a bunch of others and have a talk with him. If that person wants to get mouthy, he would think twice if there are ten guys looking at him...LOL... :screwy: I've seen it for years if someone really does have a fast boat or car, they usually are the quiet ones, they don't need to prove anything, they carry the big stick. 8)

But if they go to the speed zone all the people in the cove won't be able to see them and they won't look cool duh.....and you won't be able to hear the wake boat racers radios all the way over there either.

Some of you have lost sight of what this event is about.
Be the bigger person, no passes in the no wake zone, period. Been seeing more of this happening even on summer weekends via fb and IG posts. I partially feel responsible for this because people see it in the videos and think "hey, if they did it, then I can too".
Just don't do it. You most likely will be ridiculed if you do. Don't be that guy.

Dunno the lake is pretty shallow. This was taken 12/14/14 from the old state launch. But it gives you an idea how low the water really is.

the other two launch ramps on the north end have plenty of water the newer city launch has a real nice ramp and tons of parking

Maybe there's some truth to the statement. It's such a gradual slope into the water that maybe the water has moved up the beach ten feet. Who knows.
It's been over a month since the last time I was on the water. I've also been out of town, but I heard it's been raining a lot.

Well Brad its your call and mostly jets here I dont see it being a problem. I will be out in the 12' mini so i can probably get around with the jet boaters, AND yes it has always been there for the last couple of years. The new ramp sure is nice though with a real nice paved parking lot???

Just a heads up, the ramp a Laguna is not one you want to trip on. Left a bruise on my ass cheek for almost a month.

Elsinore has no natural incoming water until the dam overflows at Canyon Lake. That lake hasn't come up more than a few inches at best. La Laguna is deeply dredged but there is going to be no way to see shallow spots where ever they are. Better keep speeds down everywhere this year. I was skiing one year and fell. While floating around I found a tree stump nearly 2 feet in diameter appx. 4 inches below the water line. Play safe y'all.

Brad, seems like you have many options here for safe boat storage and even a place to stay. I have room in my driveway as well, it's gated so your stuff is safe. Not too far from Elsinore in Corona.

It's always show up at 9am and BS till 11am, then launch and maybe get to the cove by 12:30! That's all part of what makes this deal such a good time I think, making new friends and meeting up with old ones.
A few years ago a couple of us ended up at The Wreck in Old Town Elsinore for bloody mary's, it's a pretty divey place at 8am but it makes for good stories at TPM. I think that's where we plan to be again this Saturday morning if anyone is interested just cruise over.

Yes, I will be there, but only selling stuff at the west marina since I will be bringing the 888 can cant cart all that shit across the lake in a single seater circle boat. I dont have any koozies, but I will have shirts, hats, beanies, DVD's, stickers, etc.
So if you want some SCJB garbage, make sure you find me at the west marina.

Had my last boat in the driveway for 2 days before i sold it. HOA sent a notice if i didn't move it, they would fine me.
The boat i have now, brought it home for the last meet in October. Got home from work that night, tires were chalked to tow it.

Around 9 west marina, you should be fine I believe they had a v-drive meet last week for New Years.

There's no visibility, but I think everything is marked well if it's shallow. If you're in ankle deep water you can't see your feet..

Oh my ! That is ridiculous. Those of you who actually have to get wet to load your boats better be careful. Or are the ramps so far out that the concrete is covered with sand? I struggle with my footing mightily trying to load my tug. Be safe out there guys.

I'm gunna try an make it I don't think the float is going to be coming with me but I can try an piece it togeather last time I was at big river I was squirting water out of the seals around the shaft an some how threw my alternator belt off haha anyone got a quick fix for this so I can bring her if not anyone got a couple seats open I'll bring an ice chest let me know

The West Marina has the most slippery ramp I have ever been on, so everyone launching needs to use extreme caution when launching/loading boats. I'm sure most already know this but every year some one takes a digger on that ramp and it doesn't turn out very good. Hope to meet some new faces Saturday.

Keep this in mind when backing your trucks in. If you get the front tires wet, you may not be able to stop sliding into the lake truck and all.

another reason why i tend to use La Laguna, it seems to be taken care of better

The TPM comes off here to some who are new to this site as "a great chance to get out and enjoy the weather and friends." It may attract some folks who are new to Elsie. The lake does have some things that can bite you if you aren't paying attention. I love a great You Tube ramp fail video as much as anybody, but I don't wish it on any SCJB'rs. And take a moment to say a prayer for Mr. Papp while y'all are having fun.

Nope, I'm too tied up with finishing up a couple bikes for Taft Jan. 31. Trying to get a Husqvarna 390 resto finished up. I'm afraid the first time I am going to throw a leg over her will be on the starting line. Also building/tearing down two other CZs. The gas in my boat is over 3 years old now and I don't have the time to deal with a few other small rigging issues.
And then there is the issue of the slippery ramps. Unlike most of you guys, I have to get waist deep in the water to load my boat properly, and that is IF things go well from the start. But it is going to be a fantastic day out there, sad the water looks like it does. Have fun y'all.

Well it happened. Someone raced 3 wide and on the exit of the cove it pinched the right boat and put it on the rock bar. Howard twin turbo vdrive. Sad. Don't race 3 wide! Be the bigger person and back out!!!

Yesterday was a lot of fun! It was cool to match faces to names from the board. I also saw several familiar faces.
Brad your boat looked and sounded mean out there! I like the hot laps around the shallow buoys.
Nick, I think everyone stopped what they were doing when you idled into the cove. Your Placecraft is a beast!
I felt so bad for the v-drive that got squeezed into the rocks. Glad it wasn't any worse!!
I didn't take any pics in the cove, just one at the end of the day.

Wish I could have made it down... A little bit too much of a commitment for just a few hours of awesome.

It ran.. They had problems with the hydraulic place diverter. They ended up having to used a rope to tie the nozzle in the full up position just to drive it to the cove.
