Local lake in southern california? Im in orange county, have a boat i dont like running baffles in and likes to go over 35 mph.

The only lake that I know of that doesn't have a 35mph speed limit is the speed zone at Elsinore.
Baffles depend on if Ranger Rick wants to gives you a hard time.

El Capitan is a long narrow lake, if you get away from the launch ramp without alerting the ranger, they dont check the north end more than once an hour and usually more like 2hrs. Lots of guys run hard back there and I have never heard of anyone getting a ticket.

Elsinore is the only one I know of that doesn't have a speed limit. If you are looking to just test out your boat, Irvine lake has private test sessions. It runs $100 for about an hour or so, but its a midweek thing when the lake is closed. Jim Wilkes of Wilkes Marine is the guy to contact for that. Plus you can go as loud and as fast as you want. It was worth it for us between the time saved fighting traffic to go to the toilet bowl Elsinore, gas prices, and launch fees.
