I go there alot close to home just gotta run baffles
-
Been a long time since I have been there. I remember you had to be there early to be able to get in. Is it still the same? What about the the lake lice?, which I shouldn't say cause I use to be one there LOL. How about having a few boat sodas, that be cool there or ya asking for trouble?
-
last time i was there was like 4 years ago, jet ski's every where, then there was the diapers on the beach :D need i say more?
is it any better now?
-
Now that the weather seems to be turning good, we should all get together and hit the water! Pyramid, Piru, BV, Nacimiento, Mendota Slough, you all name it and I'm there.
-
I can be to Perris in 20 minutes BUT:
a) the 5 mph zone is twice as big as the rest of the lake right now.
b) when they fill it back up the 5 mph zone will still be half as big as the rest
c) you know the big part of the lake is 35mph right???
d) just because the Rangers are not out on the water doesn't mean they aren't watching you. Just a head's up....
and yes, come summer the black socks, flatbiller, Ed Hardy, Budweiser drinking 909rs will dominate the lake.
Get it while you can. >:D
-
Ya it gets bad more into the summer but right now theres 5 or 6 boats all day and rangers arent really out yet but i know it gets bad in the summer
-
The rangers ARE out, you just don't know where to look. I am sure you have seen the big "tower" next to the ramp, but you can't hide on the backside of the island. They can and do drive all the way around almost to the dam on the backside of the island. They are all equiped with a little device called binoculars, and they are trained in how to use them. I'm just sayin' . . .
-
Think I will stick with smellsomemore ;)
-
Ya they havent really bothered me yet but thanks 4 the info didnt know the drove around the lake time to get the boat green at smellsinore then
-
I've been thinking about trying Perris sometime soon.
The Wife doesn't like Elsinore and I'm not seeing the funding to make too many trips to the river this year.
-
Come on over the hill Keith! BV is way, way better then Elsinore or Perris. Naci and San Antonio are 90 mins from me, so is the San Juaquin river, and the Kings river
-
I haven't been out to Perris since Oct. 09 but at that time we spent a lot of time floating behind the island. There are a few rocks the size of TV's just barely under the water and much of that area is only 2 feet deep and littered with rocks. I know, BELIEVE ME I KNOW, that the urge to speed is great, but it could end badly. Honestly though, I have had no problems with running 40-45mph on the big part of the lake.
FYI -- Elsinore is the only lake in California where the speed limit isn't 35mph or at least that is what a Ranger told me.
-
Blatant thread jack here but I been drinking so fokk it . . .
Is there gonna be a SCJB gathering at Lake San Antonio this year? There should be . . ..

That ranger lied to you.

Not unless you or someone plans it. I'm not a fan of S/A. I like Naci better.
-
How far are those lakes from temecula area?

How far are those lakes from temecula area?
Both are above Paso Robles and both beautiful lakes.
-
Naci is a nice lake but it has a real fucked up entry road on weekends and very crowded on weekends as far as the ramp and camp areas. Nice coves if it is up though
SA is waaay better to camp at and to get to as it is farther away from Paso and SLO.
What's the beef with SA Skip?
-
Hey Skip they are good lakes when they have water last I herd nos was 30 per and san antonio was 45 per :(
-
I knew this would come up sooner or later. I use to be the other guy at lake perris . I cant speak for the last 3 years but if you looked like you knew what you were doing we would leave you alone (most of us). Yes we sit in the tower to the left of the launch ramps and are in cars and jeeps all around the lake. There are a lot of jetskis and first timers that use the area for practice so do watch for them. From what im told the lake level will be comming back up this year. Repairs are done and looks like there will be enough water to pull in.
-
No beef with S/A. I just like Naci better.

As of yesterday, SA is at 54% Naci is at 63%
-
Lakes are looking good. The beaches at SA are not real great when the lake is too full. 60-70% is perfect for that lake.

Stole the words right out of my mouth Ralph.. its been 4 years since my first and last perris trip.. I like puddingstone for quick test runs or the after work run with a bucket of kfc.. other than that I go to the river. I really want to head north real soon and tryout pyramid, castaic and piru. I love naci but its been years since iv'e been. And My all time favorite cali lake, or any lake for that matter is Shasta, shit I even named my black lab Shasta, and can't wait to make a trip back up there.
-
Speed limits on a lake? Seriously? Only would Cali think of that! :screwy:
35 MPH though, I would think some of these college rowing teams could come close to that! Sux most of our old sleds don't have speedo's.........
Seen a couple Ranger boats on the lakes here, rarely, but more the Maricopa County Sherrif's boats, and once at Sag, even an Arizona State DPS boat (That followed me in my Moo for QUITE some unnerving time that day! Needless to say, no roostertails or full throttle blasts for the better part of an hour). Heard nothing on speeding, but don't get caught side-by-side racing, THAT is a no-no. You can go 100mph by yourself, as far as I know, just don't do it with ANOTHER 100 mph boat near you, or do something stupid. (I'm good for the stupid chit, but nowhere near fast enough to be readily apparent!)

The outside of Elsinore is 35 MPH the middle is wide open. Thats where Eliminator tests there boats. They might cry if it is busy weekend (pushing triple digits)
