Post by: JBmotorsports on May 10, 2015, 10:08:04 AM
I have a Gen 4 BBC . I changed cam , springs , intake , carb ! Runs great , but soon as I use my up and down switch it makes the motor intermittently miss fire ???? Only thing I did was pull out the distributor ? No wires had to be really , relocated ? I checked ALL grounds ??? Never did this till now ? The intake is the Airgap Performer Chrome factory finish ! Need Help ???

It sounds like you pulled the power for the diverter off the same circuit for the ignition switch.

This could come from an isolated source completely separate from any vital power users.

There could also be a loose connection or a bad ground.

I hate hunting that kind of crap down. Good luck to you.

Also make sure the distributor has a good ground. Being as you had it out you may have lost the bond through the hold down.
