" CHECKING a CAMSHAFT for ISSUES "

Putting it in a Lathe,   Zero in your Centers,   Check Journals for  Out of Roundness/Bend (usually caused by shipping )

Check  Journal O/D  with a Mic.    Check actual Cam Lift  and Lobe taper with a dial indicator and then  go from

there.........  Determine your cam journal to cam bearing oil clearances with a telescoping guage  and  then

procede with Degree'ing etc..

Most of the times I have seen problems caused by SHIPPING,  more than anything else.
