Title: 1977 or 1981 charger jet boat?

hey guys I have a charger jet boat with a mild built 460 and a 12jc pump but my tittle for it says its a 1981 boat... but the vin says 1977 anyone else have this issue or is there a reason?

Do the HIN numbers match on hull and title?  If so, I'd say the DMV got it wrong.
