When the Team was down stream havin fun, we were up the strip enjoying all the river has to offer. The weather was just great, water was warm enough and the scenic was just awesome. Stayed in the usual place, River Lodge, on the Cali side as they are very hospitable to tenters. Congrats on all your success Team SoCalJetBoats.com. Well with no further ado . . .

Looks like fun. Where is that place? I couldn't help but notice that in the roostertail pic that the butterflies on the bug catcher are closed. Are they not hooked up to the carb linkage?
-
i almost suggested that maybe he had taken his foot out of it for the picture.....then i thought twice about it and figured that there wouldnt be a rooster tail if he didnt have his foot in it.

That was my exact train of thought as well.

Wouldn't the engine be hard pressed to get enough air with the flaps closed? I know mine wont even idle too long if I forget to remove the dust cover before I start it. ???

Sounds like a strong engine. ;)

River Lodge is about 1 ? miles down river from the dam on the California side. Great if you have kids because there is two lagoons out of the current were they can swim safely. You can also anchor in one of them and not really worry about you boat floating down river. Been going there sence 1977.

That scoop is all for looks. Well mostly. The scoop is really for a two carb setup so on the bottom of it the mounting plate is only covering half allowing all the air it needs from the bottom. The butterflies are hooked up but with the minimum through so my daughters hair don?t get sucked in and caught in them. It was a mess the first time she road in the back seat. There is a mesh screen also over the carb to prevent anything to big like a nut or screw from being sucked in. This motor is rather mild. Maybe 325hp but has less than 6 hours on it. The pump has the same time, and tight as Hell with less than .001 clearance between ware-ring and impeller and it?s never been ran out of water. Thinking about building another motor as I have another 4 bolt and giving you racers a run for your money. The Sprint is a really fast hull as it has spaunsins that trap air under it and force it to the middle down a channel next to the grate creating a cousion with little drag. The draw back is the boat has a tendency to whip dangerously (especially on glass) in a turn as only the last foot of the boat is in the water above 50mph. You can kinda see this in the 7th picture. This is why Eliminator only made this hull for 4 years and quit making boats shorter than 21 feet. Way too many accidents with this hull design. I had one with my 1st one. No body hurt but sank the boat and a couple docks. Nice thing though is on glass there is absolutely no wake 50 feet behind the boat so for skiing it is paradise. I love to ski. Finding some one that I can trust behind the wheel, a hole nother story. So you guys think I should build another motor? Do I hear any financial motivation?

I'm deffinatly going to have to visit that place. I have kids as well and that place looks perfect.
What's all done to the motor now and what size is it?

Let me know when your going to River Lodge. I'll go any weekend I have my kid and not going to another lake. My motor is a 454 and not sure about the specs. I just dropped the motor off with a check at D & D Performance and said I wanted no more than 325hp and that was the motor I got. I can give his number if you would like one too.

Well just like any toy with a big motor, Just have to have respect for it. Not sure of the weekend but mid June and mid July are looking like the only free weekends for me. I would like to suggest River Lodge for the SCJB Regatta but seems guys were leaning towards Blyth and in September. I will be here for Labor Day weekend.

All right Dudes, I checked out my calendar and these are the weekends I don?t have anything planned "yet." (June 16th and 17th), (July 14th and 15th), (July 28th and 29th), (August 11th and 12th), (August 25th and 26th) , So if you are interested in planning a trip to River Lodge with the Family lets pick a weekend. It?s an 8 hour drive for me so I will leave on the Thursday before.
If I can get out of work this next weekend as in May 5th and 6th, I got to take my kid to Glamis so she can ride her new Dirt Bike. Don?t know if you guys have kids that ride, I don?t ride dirt as I hate the dirt but maybe you guys do. Just a thought.

Waaay too hot at Glamis this time of year brother!

Thanks for the info on Glamis, Pismo Beach it is. Nice and cool there. I don't ride so I had no idea and the river is just to far for a one dayer.
The 14th and 15th of July is good. I start my two week vacation on the 1st and that will be a good way to finnish it. I will be starting it in NorCal on Clear Lake. I think there are a couple members here from up North. Post Up if you want to Hook Up NorCal Lurkers. Mamoth Lakes after the 4th and then I'll head South. Any you guys up for a road trip?
