Title: Am I allowed to use you guys' shoulders for a minute?
Post by: IRRebel on May 30, 2009, 10:24:58 PM
I know I've relyed on you guys far more than is prudent. And you've all been great about it. But this is my own version of therapy, these boats and leaning on you guys. (Let alone you guys putting together what I view as my "Welcome to Boating party" at Temple Bar)

Tomorrow morning woulda been my first anniversary. Well, REAL anniversary since the Vegas Wedding anyway, since we'd been together for 4 years before all that. Been bugging me the past couple of weeks. Couldn't put my finger on it, but I've just been dreading it, and my daughter brought it up a little while ago.

She suggested my brother and I just get shit faced drunk and wants me to bring home a bottle of Captain, lol. (Something I've been staying away from the past couple months).

Sorry if this is all sappy and long winded, just had to vent it.

Hope to see you guys ALL this summer. We'll see, But that is my plan.

Ray

And THANKS, EVERYONE!

Ray, not sure if i would call the captain out or not ??? for me, i just rip into a project (normally a boat) to keep my self busy and get something done.

Were here for you man! With that said...A little drinking while wrenching could help! Might make for a laugh when your sober and see what kind of job you did the night before!  ;)

I hate to see anyone use alcohol as a coping method because it usually turns into a bigger problem.  But if you need something to help keep your mind off of the pain, you always have a family here at SCJB that is willing to listen.

I agree that drinking can lead into bigger problems--hang overs suck especially after hitting my 30's! Some nice Hydro "project" is better, no hang over and more mellow chilled relaxing.... No hang over and you can function the next day.........................  ;)

Ray,

I really don't know how feel, so I won't go there.

I will say, I think what you're feeling is normal.

It's not the same thing, but when I was growing up, I spent every summer in southern Oregon with my grandparents, right on the mighty Rogue River, by far some of the best times of my life, a few years back I lost my grandmother to cancer, a couple years before that, my grandfather.

One of the best therapies I have yet to come accross is all of the happy/funny stroies and good memories that we have shared over the years (my grandmother called herself the worlds oldest living teenager).

After my garandad passed, there was a river race in Gold Beach (where he was from), every boat that was owned by someone who knew him had an "In Loving Memory Of" sticker on the hull, I cannot tell you the overrun of emotions that brought up. He was a well liked guy that would stop to help just about anyone.

I guess what i am really trying to say is, I feel for your loss, remember the positive and move on my friend, life is to be lived and enjoyed with people that you will miss when they are gone...

Sorry to sound like a Halmark card, but think it over ;)

Exactly what's going on, gotta do some work on the Moo! (Al6 fell off the engine cover, wrapped a few wires around the alternator and threw the alt belt off, prolly all that saved the AL6!)

So, I gotta lil work to do, shorten the wires up and fix them, then through bolt the damn ignition module so this doesn't happen again, lol. Fortunate we didn't get stranded with it.

Thanks Guys! Yeah, the captain was more of a joke from my daughter! (Although the Coronas are going down smoooooooth after work today, lol)

Still haven't decided which direction to head yet. Gonna take both boats out Thursday morning. The river is sounding interesting to me, and i still have enough time off to hit Mead again too so........
