It really depends, (I know, really a cop out answer huh?) But the reason I say that is because of the different possibilities, lets say 1200HP blower motor that turns 6500 RPM, yeah, hammering out of the hole may break a thing or two, mainly because I doubt seriously, unless there has been an absolute ton of engineering that went into the build you could even keep it hooked up.

But as a general statement, I really don't think it will hurt anything as long as the hull planes, if the bow reaches for the sky for 30-40 seconds, I would say better methods of launching should be investigated...The engine can get into a stupid lean condition if run that way too long..The biggest issue is keeping the pump loaded, the pump will absorb any initial "shock" as far as the engine is concerned, but if she vents, the RPM go to the heavens and that what breaks stuff IMHO.
