Title: Anyone using a Go pro Hero camera
Post by: Second Chance on July 21, 2011, 02:48:47 PM
on their boats, if so which mount is best. I'm a little worried about
the suction cup mount coming loose at speed. I suppose you could rig
some kind of tether just in case, but just wondering what has worked best for you guys ?

suction mount is a boss. i use it on my boat and my buggy. never falls off if you put it on right. I did put a foam coozie around the arm of the suction mount just in case it fell off so that it would float.

but ya i put it on my boat all the time.

we even put it on an airchair using the suction mount.

Hey Tony, thanks for the info & videos. The suction mount looks like it works pretty good.
Do you think it will stay on at 100 mph ? I like the coozie idea.
By the way, are you gonna make the next Big River trip in August ? Have'nt got to meet you yet.
Think we saw your old boat at Isabella a while back but did'nt get a chance to meet up.

Nice video, were you guys using the suction cup mount up on the deck ?
I was also thinking about maybe clamping one of the mounts up on the scoop
to get a bigger picture. Thanks for the replies.   :)

I talked to a drag racer one day about   go_pro mounts...he said he had one at 180 mph on the wing of his dragster and it stayed

My suction mount holds on fine at 70. my boat wont do 100 so i dont know. i bet itwould be fine though. i use it on my dunebuggy and that is a hell of a ride sometimes.

I have had the suction cup to well over a hundred on outside windows of drag cars. They vibrate quite a bit on boats, for that I like my helmet mount, your head is a nice stabilizer...

Thanks for all the responses , it seems the suction cup should do it.
We'll see if we can pick one up before Big River.
