Title: Avi to the Sandbar in Boat - Distance?

How far is it from the Avi to the Sandbar in my 21' Tank of and OPEN Bow with a jet? Is it a pain in the ass type of ride?

Ive been all the way down to Needles from the Avi last trip, just wondering how much further to Topock then on to the Sandbar. Is it a two tank trip? Fill up going there and fill up back?

Post by: NORDIC454 on August 21, 2008, 11:43:52 AM: i took my 20 mini day cruiser (heavy as hell) from laughlin to topock wide open most of the way. then to the sandbar and back. had to fill up at the Avi on the way back up river to laughlin. so from avi to the sandbar you should be fine. oh ya, btw.. i am running 700H.P. and two 12 gallon tanks.

Post by: skee on August 21, 2008, 06:25:55 PM: Don't know if you're aware...from Topock Marina to the Sandbar is what is called the "gorge",It's a pretty cool ride...no ski'in or nutthin'...it's a "protected preserve",part of it was a no wake zone when I went last year....Avi to the Sandbar will be a pretty cool ride,if it's not too busy! My kids dig it! ;D. And remember,sometimes when commin' out of the gorge into Topock,they have floating sobriety check point's...So be cool,be safe and enjoy the ride! 8) Tracy

The family and I just made that trip last week in a 21' v-drive, it's about an hour from Avi doing about 40mph, nice scenery though.
