Had a great time this weekend at the races. Great meeting some of you I havent yet met. As for Skip...AWESOME tri tip bro. Great potato salad as well. Please give props to the little lady. I am sure Brad will post all the details. Unless something has changed from this afternoon, Brad's camera is MIA. Hopefully not for long. I took a ton of pics so here are a few.

I had a great time as usual and its always cool hanging with everyone . Glad everyone is OK . David was talking about how it's a complete clusterfuck in the first turn and if you end up in someones roost there is literally ZERO visability and your just driving blind and I thought that was an understatement  :o What a fukin blast this is  ;D.

On the down side , sunday was not so good .....

Title: Re: Bakersfield 10/7
Post by: Brad @ SCJB on October 08, 2007, 12:09:31 PM
man....what a weekend.

big thanks to marc Sebastian and Kyle for the help getting things set up, maintained and packed up.

Also, Big thanks to Tom and Rhonda for helping out the guys during crunch time for the past couple of weeks doing whatever they can to help out to make sure everyone was up and running this weekend.

....and then there's Skip (Luckie Stiff) and his wife...They showed up with some pre-marinated tri-tips that were to die for...and the home made 'tater salad....yum. He would give the recipe to anyone, but me. Many thanks to Skip.

Also, thanks to the Team and their crews for busting their ass's to put on a good, safe show. Every race was exciting.

Also, I don't have a picture of it because I lost track of my camera all day Sunday (but I found it before we left).....but Tom and Rhonda showed up with a Birthday cake for the site. This thing looked amazing.....and it tasted just like it looked. It was unfortunate that you guys were unable to stay for it. Everyone loved it.

Unfortunately, Rick Ortega's boat (lilrick - Cj32) flipped in the 1st heat on Sunday. He banged his knee and shin while being pitched out and has a sore shoulder and wrist. He is expected to be ok and should be seeing a doc today just to be sure. The boat went unharmed and with everyone's help and with Tom directing the madness, the motor was drained and running again within a few hours.

Thanks to everyone for the successful 2007 season with the SCSC. First race for 2008 is only 7 weeks away.

Thanks again to everyone's support, I hope to see this team/family/community continue to grow. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be a part of.

Brad-
Glad you liked my meat :o :o :o That spice rub is one of my own creations. Had a ton of fun hanging with
you guys this past weekend, anyone coming for the NJBA in 2 weeks? The wife has decided that she wants
to race with you boys, but she wants Ralph to mentor her. As I said before if you guys need anything while you're up here, passing through, whatever, don't hesitate to call, I'll do whatever I can to help out. I've got tons of floor space and a spa to work out the day's bruises, and it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Howard Johnson's!

See you guys soon

PS: Brad, if you want the recipe, I'll happily give it up......

I do not have the actual placement for the 1st heat, if anyone knows, please post and I will correct my spreadsheet.

With the DNF's, scratches, and break-outs, the following are the final results:

1st Place: David Carrasco
2nd Place: Ralph Brunt
3rd Place: Jim Rich

Great pics guys! My sponsor (K-24) couldn't get his brand new engine to work so needless to say we didn't show.

I like the pic of 7 boats wide coming up on the start. They used to run 9 wide at narrow long beach lol...

That mopar boat was a traitor! It had a Chevy!

Previous owner Peter Guy campained that boat with a blown hemi several years back.

Wow all the shit spewin about the Sanger. Maybe you could bring the Sanger Spanker aka thepinkwhore.net to Parker for the 300 to show me what is really up, I mean if it is so bad it should be able to flex its 502 muscles and put a real hurtin on the old Sanger. ;D And then shoot back up to Bakersfield on Sunday and run some NJBA circles. Are you up for that Team SoCal ?  ::) I bet you all don't have the stones for that. Don't tell me you don't have the cash, I am sure your leader can find some sponsorship for the Ford at the chevy dealership. :o Ralph, I will also have my tools so you will be able to tune and adjust again, I also just received my 4500 bowl and metering plate gaskets as well as all the replacement jets I have handed out from Jegs today so there will be plenty to go around. :o

sorry jim i have a life outside of boating (like a job :o) and i will be fixing a broken stringer so i can run in the c/j class. come on out so i can hand you your ass again and again >:( ;D . Dont be sore because the reputation you have made for yourself wont let you keep a big sponsor like chevy. i guess its a good thing that i paid you for the jets you gave me, i new eventually this would come up and thats why i paid you for your parts. keep ordering my friend. and if its a broblem that i borrow your tools next time i wont ask, i'm sure i thanked you but i will do it here for all to see. thank you.

sincerly yours

Jim,
I have never met you personally but I did see you parade around in your race suit all last weekend spouting off about something. I'm sure all the SCJB guys have pleanty of "stones" to go up against you. Funny how all the tunning you did at home helped alot last weekend. I was glad to see Omar beat you fair and square. As far as our leader goes. He bust his ass to keep this site up and running with quality people and info while working a regular job. You try it sometime and see how you do. Personaly I think Brad is doing a killer job putting up with alot of the BS that people post and filtering it out. I am personally glad that I found this site. I Have a met alot of very cool people and learned a s**t load of info from people who like to share their knowledge.

As far as the parts and tools are concerned, you totally misinterpreted what I said.  What I meant was that I will have the parts and tools available if needed.  And no it is not a problem that you borrow tools or parts.  You are one of the few that do pay for what they borrow.

I am looking forward to you trying to hand me my ass again and again. 8)  Just bring it baby  ! ;D

Im sure if this was in a different thread not the "Racing one" it probably wouldnt have  been taken Wrong.

And you say i took it negative? you guy's are the one's being negative about it ;D

if i would have told anyone else to "take there animosity and Sanger Spanking attitude and stick it up their ford.

They would have laughed about it, But you took it negative and tried to turn the table on me ;)

Jim to be perfectly honest , I almost didnt want to go out there considering I installed the fin . When I launched I almost had anxiaty (sp?) attack . Mashed the gas and it stayed straight , so I calmed down a little . Gott on the back stretch , wiggled the wheel from side to side and there was an inexplicably  huge diffrence in handling and I calmed down further . Next thing you know the green flag was about to drop and I'm about to have a heart attack . "What the the fuk is this thing gonna do when I stab the gas and stay in it . Not only that , whats it gonna do when I come into the turn real hot ! " I wanted to vomit in my helmet .  :-X
