Kick ASS! It's wierd though, they always, well seems like always, have the HRR the first w/e in Oct. Oh well now I don't have to choose! Anybody up for a beer b q get together Sat night of the Ming race?
so are we having the bar-bq?? i need to know because i have to go and get food for the weekend tomarrow

I'm always up for good food and cold beers, where are you thinking about doing it? are you guys camping @ the lake? we can do it @ my pad if need be, you guys let me know what y'all are thinking and we'll plan from there.

The majority of us are camping at the lake. I am bringing by BBQ and the RV im bringing has a full kitchen. Lets plan on doin this Saturday night!

I am towing the rescue boat up there Thursday night. I think ralph said he was driving up early Friday morning. Rick is driving up Thursday day. Unsure about everyone else.
I am going to split this convo off to another thread so we arent hijacking Jim's testing thread....cuz he sure needs it >:D

Ok, sounds like it's on then. I'm gonna need a head count so I know how much meat to buy, Brad you will have a grill with you? I can bring mine if not, no big deal. Ralph, you're in charge of the head count and the side dishes :o

additional event info please....price$$$ to watch/get in the park/lake? , ok to hangout in the pits w/ the socal crew? schedule of events and such, gotta work the swapmeet in longbeach i got to be up @ 4am, would like to get out of there early but want to enjoy the bbq,......let me know..

Gate Fee= Free
Pit Fee= Free

This is correct. There is no seperation of pits and spectators either.....everyone is one big happy family hangin out and having fun.
I say the BBQ will begin around 6 or 7. I will bake up some chilli as well.

Brad, will the Q be back at the campground? I'm assuming it will be. Oh yeah, I'm going to need a final head count by NOON on Thursday, heading to the butcher after work on Thurs to get either A) Tri Tip or B) Sirloin Steaks, just depends on the # of people, I'll bring the beef, some 'tater salad. Anything else?

Got it, I'll be staying @ the campground up the bluff from the lake so we'll be able to haul the stuff down when yer ready

There is other food vendors out there. As for the schedule there seems to be one but I have yet to see it followed.

I will be bringing my BBQ to cook burgers/dogs for lunch......donations accepted to cover food costs.....they also normally have a lunch truck present or a vender.
there is racing BOTH saturday AND sunday....ALL DAY......the nostalgia jet class has 2 heats each day a few hours apart. I dont know the schedule and if I did, i could bet it would change 3 more times before saturday ;)
for the BBQ....ummm.....bring desert....or beer....or strippers! ;D

I think I'm comin' with my Lady and a couple other people. There is tent camping at the camp grounds, right? We'll be shackin' up in the bed of the Truck.... chicks dig it.

OK, so that's 30 people so far, add probably another 10 to that number for show ups and we're at 40 mouths to feed!
Beerjet is bringing some steaks (how many is some?)
lilrick is bringing yellowtail and 2 tri tips
LuckieStiff is good for 4(or maybe 6 if needed) tri tips, potato salad.
Ralph is in for plates,utensils & salads
Anybody want to round up drinks (soda, water, etc) or should it just be BYOB?
Brad, I'm planning on heading out there Sat morning, is the pits camping only for the racers? Or can i set up there
instead of the KC campground?

theres no restrictions in the pits as to where people can go....we just ask that you dont block the launch ramps!
we will be on the NW side of the lake...as you go through the loop...go through the 2nd gate.

Yes you can, there are firepits @ each campsite.

Dito. I'm sure Brad makes good chili but lets get real. The tri tip...Holy mother of God was it good. For a guy that doesnt like tater salad that was awesome as well.
