"J" drain
« on: September 28, 2007, 01:12:53 PM »
I just got back from the lake after installing one of these "J" drains, automatic drain plug. I dont know about you guys but my boats seam to have a fair amout of water sloshing around in the bilge. On my flatbottom pulling my foot out of it, or running out of gas, is like dropping anchore. When this happens I asually get a few gallons of bilge water flying up front a hitting the bulkhead, the previous owner actually made floor boards for it so his ole lady wouldnt get her feet wet and mine usually slides under the dash, no traction to hold herself in her seat. I just took it out for a little test spin and when i pulled my foot out of it NOTHING came forward! I had about a 1/4 inch of water  in the bilge when i  pulled it out. $20 bux well spent.

it's a little square box you screw on over your drain hole, has a rubber flap in it

If you get any kind od debris in it , it will just let more water in so check it on a regular basis!

Taco'd "a person or people that show up with one lake lice and a family of 50 and cram 3 people at a time on it with no disregard to boating rules or ethics. Usualy crap in toilets and throw shit paper in trash cans. Hang out at the boat ramp like its a swimming hole. Have zero insurance on anything they own and dont give two shits less about your property."
