Title: Big Bend, Laughlin, Bullhead locals/regulars question
Post by: 72KonaRiverB on September 10, 2015, 08:53:03 PM
What do you think Big Bend will be like this weekend 9/12-9/13?  Crowded, lake lice hell?  I have the Davis dam release schedule, so I know water levels, also have a pass to Mohave, but i'm thinking F-that.  Want to do a quick trip to get the boat wet, been working waaaaay too much.

Usually Labor Day weekend is the last busy weekend, and thats when the jet-skis and novice boaters go home for the year.

The weather is perfect, water is warm, and Lazy Harry's is around the corner.

Went to lazy's last Friday,... Probably the worst food I've had there ever. That place has gone downhill bad over the last year or so.

Well, that sucks
Iguanas around the corner isn't much better, either...

Iguana's shut down quite some time ago. You'd be hard pressed to find a local that will eat anything at Harry's other than on Taco Tuesday. Don't go for the A/C, and the beers are getting warmer, so make sure you have a few before visiting..... it's makes for a more enjoyable experience. If you can do better though, Loretta has it up for sale for a mere $1,000,000.

I had better experience by just staying on the beach at the Avi and eating at their cantina. Hell, sometimes they even have a cocktail waitress who will bring you your food and drinks on the beach.

Iguana's building is for lease opening up a (potentially) better experience on the water. With a shared dock with the VFW and more room, if marketed properly, it could be a REAL boater destination (though I'd prefer it not turn into another Pirate's).
That's why I turned the living room at the Shack into a tiki bar.....cold beer, good drinks, and within staggering distance of Harry's (both ways). ;D

Yup!!!  went there last month  had a Bloody Mary and tasted awful" Had to chase it down with a shot and a bud light " when I was leaving I sucked up some pump salad and I never even touch the throttle just idled in and out.  Why did I go there again????  Awful "

After being there for 13 years, I've leaned a few things about launching at Harry's.

It's a long drive. You will need to top off down there... At a premium price too.
