Hey guys and gals, I new to the jet boating world and was just wondering if a Jetovator is really necessary or not.  Does it make much of a difference if you don't have a dedicated race boat?  Thoughts?  Opinions?

I do not have one but I do have cav plates, mines 100% race only.  I do think they are pretty though

May I ask, what do you set your nozzle angle at?  Are you using thrust to air out with a fixed up nozzle angle or just the plates?  Do you have both up and down in your plates?

Finding parts for an original Berkeley Jetovator might be a problem. 

I recommend installing a Place diverter on any river/lake jet boat just for the ability adjust the attitude of the boat for the conditions.

The ability to roost an idiot on a Wave Runner is just a bonus

nozzle set at a little above neutral as compared with the bottom. Plates are up and down.  Remember all hulls are different.  A lot of time and money were spent on my bottom and the pump angle.  A diverter will allow you to find the best location for the effect you want( ride, speed, handling or pretty spray)

Yes it does.
My personal preference is a hydraulic actuated 'Place Diverter'.
