Warning! The Klamath river is at record low levels, for the past several weeks every day has set a new all time record (for any date) low. It is now at 8.28' at the mouth, and historically our lowest readings won't be for another 6 weeks. This water level and the resultant temperature rise will cause a massive fish kill impacting salmon and trout populations for years to come. Reason? Central Valley farmers, hundreds of miles away, who are not experiencing catastrophic conditions have sued to stop the release of ANY water from the Klamath's reservoirs (behind the fish killing dams) which are at capacity. There is no reason for this senseless fish kill. Please, if you can - tell your elected official that you want to Save the Klamath Salmon. Make the US honor at least one treaty with the indigenous people and give them the water they were promised.
