Has any had there boat appraised ? I got boat insurance thru USAA which sends all water craft policy's to progressive so the agent asked me if I had my boat appraised, I told him no and he said if you do to send that to him and he will add that to policy and if I wanted to sell it or buy something I can use it like you can with a vehicle. He told me that the appraiser price is what some place would use instead of NADA. Kinda goofy.

I think a lot of us has a set price that we have agreed on and insured to that dollar amount. I never had mine appraised the dollar amount that i had mine insured to did bring up a few red flags being a 1979 jet boat. But i did have a lot of receipts to back it up. I used Foremost insurance for the boats.

I have USAA for all my insurance, except the boat. They sent me to Markel and they were super expensive, they never mentioned doing an appraisal though. I am using Foremost with agreed value just like Jim and a lot of others. In my opinion it's the only way to insure boats like ours.

I also have USAA for my banking and all my vehicles insurance. I did do a set amount for total loss, I just never had any insurance company ever ask me if I had my boat appraised. Never not one of my boats.

They're all worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The problem is you can't afford the insurance. So we throttle it back to about $3k.
Now that's funny right there. Lol
