as some of you have found out, insurance for our boats is really hard to get. i just got insurance on both my boats for under 500 a year. if you are interested call stacy at 760-931-2660 or e-mail performanceboatinsurance@gmail.com it is through wozen craft.
for that price it is too cheap not to have

Ralph, What level of coverage did you get for that kind money? (full, liability, comprehensive)?

Right there with ya Ralph!
I think I mentioned before that mine are covered, after negotiations of my taking my homeowners, car and some life insurance with it, to someone that WOULD insure my boats after my Biesemeyer incident. State Farm agreed, and I have a signed policy from the regional director with pics and all of my boats verifying that in case they try and "Welch" on the deal.
Actually about the same as you're paying, but I got them to cover 4 boats, even though the others aren't in the water just yet...... ;)

I have AAA... 80 bucks a year... liability coverage.. my boat itsnt all racey and crazy fast or powerful..... it took 10 min and i had insurance
-
i went thru farmers. pay around 500 a year but that is full coverage if i sink it or run the out drive into anything it is all covered. up to about 65k.
money well spent in my book

AAA. just liability. $100 a year and i am 23 years old...
-
same here.. in 24 and its super cheep.. my boats only worth 3500 bucks on a good day.. all i want to make sure is that people in my boat are covered(and they are) and that other boats around me are covered if i hit them(and they are).. now if i had a boat some some guys have on this website, BBC with a blower and on and on, then it is worth it to get full coverage

The only companies I could find that would insure my float was AAA and Progressive. AAA couldn't touch Progressives price even though I had my cars with them, but the agent was a hottie so I spent quite a while trying. 8)
All Progressive really wanted to know about the boat other than the ID basics was estimated top speed and was the engine covered. So $400 now gets both my boats insured. And y'all know how fast my boat is (not).
One thing to consider with insuring a boat is that is something happens to it while towing, you are covered. Most auto policies will not cover what is being towed. Just something to think about . . .
X2 on at least getting a quote from Stacy Johnson @ Wozencraft. Besides being all around good people, she calls back when she says she will, and can search thru a number of different carriers.

After being with geico for 6 years they would not cover my boat stating it was too old lol. So Triple A I went . They won't cover over the transom exhaust and they gave me a little hell about my open motor .....
-
It is hard for a company to turn down a boat with a covered motor and a top speed of 42 mph. :banghead:
-
Progressive beat everyone my broker quoted through by quite a bit (over $180 difference) and that is for full coverage with much higher coverage than base, $310 per year.
