Title: Boat Insurance?
Post by: Luckie Stiff on May 20, 2009, 10:45:37 AM
I need to get some boat insurance, problem is my AAA agent said they can't insure my boat due to the speed/hull size.  I know that there are companies that insure jets/vdrives etc, I'm looking for some personal experiences. I think JBP Tom has a hook up in AZ?

Thanks fellas

I used my agent out of San Luis Obispo, Engle Isurance. Mine is progressive. Only 400 a year and that is with comp and collision for a 500 HP motor and jet Boat. Ask for Brittany and tell her DJ referred you. She is awesome.

new boat is 580 per year for full coverage with a 500 deductible, that is through american family, my agent was going to cover forkedup for me when i had it, but only because of the other eight policies i hold with him, as far as i know the new owner of forkedup is still looking for insurance coverage, we have tried everyone we can think of.

i just went on progressives site and didnt get past the first few questions when trying to insure the southwind....

405 hp...recreational use 20' boat from 1979...private owner....runabout...

"We are unable to provide you with a rate due to the current use of your watercraft."

....then i tried gieco and wasnt able to proceed because they didnt have jencraft or southwind in their list  :screwy:
