who has the fastest boat on here?
anything over 70-75, get the kids out of the boat and your jacket on....dumbass
Wow, and I thought I was on the right track gps'ing the the Moo boat at 76, still had a lot of throttle, and was holding speed good at about 4500 rpm. (On a SMOOTH lake, rough lake, well, you all know the story, lol) Haven't had the chance to truly open her up to see what she can REALLY do. Might not wanna know. (I do know, or guesstimate, the engine peaks around 5800 or so, but I've set the rpm limiter to 5k until I'm convinced it's broke in good). Then it gets reset to 6k. Someone stop me from doing this.
I think that's fast enough, thank you very much, have no immediate desire to go triple digits, well yet, lol.
I think the Moo boat has other intentions, however. A few peaks on my GPS indicated as high as 91, so I can see why the kids are scared.

Don't break it in from cruising.... after a few heat cycles on a new motor... hammer down... try to get the best ring seat
common guys post your mph up60ish
60ishMid 50's two people and full tank of gas ;D
38.7 MPH with a strong wind at my back. O0i think u have that # confused w/ me and the nordic LOL!
my boat, not my motor.

B-rad, that sure looks photoshopped with the max speed up side down ;D
A photoshop professional like you should have caught that ;)

Rogers with a 427 and a c cut impeller/ 5900 rpm's and 80.4 mph at the Parker Race
Advantage cruiser 68 at 5100 rpm's
Has 82daytona been doing spy drive by's again? :-\
GT
So that thing liked the C cut huh? That's a big jump compared to Puddingstone! What kind of power does the impeller chart say for that rpm? Damn efficient hull O0
i could ive been in 2savs hood ;D
Harold Bruce recommended that we cut it to the c.
At Puddingstone we were running 73 mph at 4700 rpm's with the a.
At Parker we bumped the rev limiter a couple of times at 6k. I'm not sure what this motor will rev to, kinda afraid to bump it much more.
We have another motor in the works. So far we have a Dart 502 block, Dart assembled heads, Crower crank and lightened rods. I'm broke now this is it for parts for awhile.
Dart block, heads, crower crank and rods.... Isn't there any better parts available other than those? (sarcastic ;D) ....
I don't even want to know what kind of combo that ends up being... Sounds like way too much power lol
Donovan, I don't even dream that big. :o The dart and crower stuff is more than I can afford. It may take a long time before this motor is done.
Allright, I get what you're after. Gps'ed the Moo boat at 76 MPH a few weeks ago at Bartlett. Thought it a fluke but verified it today at 78 mph. No pics of the gps tho, and didn't want to post because this all happened at around 4200 rpm with quite a bit of throttle and quite seemingly, power left! I think I created my own demise here! Have no idea what her top speed is yet, but it is a little scarey! (Got WAY too bumpy to try for more today, but she has more in her).
Lake was actually good today, not so busy, and I got some pics of them towing Cadillac's boat in, still mostly submerged. They couldn't seem to find him? I had no numbers or anything when I offered to help. I think they misunderstood my intentions.

I call Bullshit, or in this case, Cowshit ;D Not saying you're fibbing Ray, but I can't believe the MPH & RPM combo, sorry. :sly:
PS-Still love me? :-* :-* :-*
i know what we gpsed brads southwind at but i aint saying anything!
Yes I do sugar, but unless my GPS is messing with me, tis what I read (could be, told me I had another hour to go to meet Jeremy earlier and it was less than half that, lol) Don't have one of those fancy ones like Brad has.
But it did it twice, the only times I've seen water smooth enough to try it, lol. I guess we'll see for sure in June!
Ray
You sure you don't have it set on KM/H (kilometers per hour) ? 78 KM/H is 48.46 MPH, that's a little easier pill for me to swallow.

We need to get Ray some safety gear and lets go roundy round.

Ray you would beat the shit out of my race boat if you can get it to run 5500 rpm

This cannot be that unusual!.
Ray
LMAO you keep pretty close tabs! Went with a Weiand tunnel instead of the offy, other then that, very accurate Skip!
Ray
No tabs being kept, just looked back at your old post about your engine.
I vote the tach is off.... that engine should pull of an easy 5200rpm IMO
