Wow, and I thought I was on the right track gps'ing the the Moo boat at 76, still had a lot of throttle, and was holding speed good at about 4500 rpm. (On a SMOOTH lake, rough lake, well, you all know the story, lol) Haven't had the chance to truly open her up to see what she can REALLY do. Might not wanna know. (I do know, or guesstimate, the engine peaks around 5800 or so, but I've set the rpm limiter to 5k until I'm convinced it's broke in good). Then it gets reset to 6k. Someone stop me from doing this.

I think that's fast enough, thank you very much, have no immediate desire to go triple digits, well yet, lol.

I think the Moo boat has other intentions, however. A few peaks on my GPS indicated as high as 91, so I can see why the kids are scared.

LMAO Where were you a month or so ago Terry?

Yeah, I had no jacket on, no kids in the boat, however, but was fun! (And scarey). They're content with the blue one. Although the girls prefer the Moo, lol. Like you though, I cruise with it and give them a slight jolt now and again.

Don't break it in from cruising.... after a few heat cycles on a new motor... hammer down... try to get the best ring seat

Thanks for the advice! Did that more than once, which is why the kids are afraid of it! (My daughter now loves it, but my son, huh-uh, he'd rather stick his head in a beehive than ride in it). Girls seem to like riding in it, go figure.

Should be good to go now. Was running a PCV valve during the break in runs with it (Old school, I know). It came out now for another breather. With 20+ hours on it should be good to go. Got some oil leak somewhere (Pan prolly), but not enough to get concerned over. Tighten it up and run it 'til winter. Opened up the 6AL to 6k, JIC I can actually do it in the near future.

Thread jack over, back to your abnormal programming!  ;D

Ray

Still think Terry might well have the fastest boat on here,  short of MAYBE one of Tom's monsters IMO.

For daycruisers mine was at 62 on gps before the engine work....

Thought the question was who has the fastest boat, since folks had already posted faster speeds I wasn't going to play. but here goes

Rogers with a 427 and a c cut impeller/ 5900 rpm's and 80.4 mph at the Parker Race

Advantage cruiser  68 at 5100 rpm's

Harold Bruce recommended that we cut it to the c.
At Puddingstone we were running 73 mph at 4700 rpm's with the a.
At Parker we bumped the rev limiter a couple of times at 6k.  I'm not sure what this motor will rev to, kinda afraid to bump it much more.
We have another motor in the works. So far we have a Dart 502 block, Dart assembled heads, Crower crank and lightened rods. I'm broke now this is it for parts for awhile.

The biggest deal breaker for me is building a monster and having it hicup and cough up a rod or worse.
Now you have to cough up MORE money to maintain a big $$$$$ motor.
I'll settle for the other guys hammering on their shit to stay out in front me .

Allright, I get what you're after. Gps'ed the Moo boat at 76 MPH a few weeks ago at Bartlett. Thought it a fluke but verified it today at 78 mph. No pics of the gps tho, and didn't want to post because this all happened at around 4200 rpm with quite a bit of throttle and quite seemingly, power left! I think I created my own demise here! Have no idea what her top speed is yet, but it is a little scarey! (Got WAY too bumpy to try for more today, but she has more in her).

Lake was actually good today, not so busy, and I got some pics of them towing Cadillac's boat in, still mostly submerged. They couldn't seem to find him? I had no numbers or anything when I offered to help. I think they misunderstood my intentions.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure, lol.

Tell you what Skip, Sweety, noones been in the boat when I've made these GPS attempts that even remotely doubts what they saw (They watch the GPS, I try and keep us alive) I could be off on the rpm, kinda hard to watch that and keep everyone safe on the lakes I been on, but I don't think so. I think I over built this thing, myself, for it's (well THEN) intended purpose.

C'mon down, or wait till June and see for yourself, I'll even let you drive it if you doubt this. I don't,  ;D

Ralph, I dunno, but the engine I'm guessing peaks at around 5900 rpm. I doubt seriously if the pump would keep going to that extreme. Why am I under the gun on this? This cannot be that unusual!.

Anyway, yeah, I think it's got more in it, I've run out of smooth lake and brave GPS holders to push it as far as it will go on every attempt, but I'm guessing it's an easy 80+ mph boat. And that is that. Sorry it looks like a cow guys, but it is what it is. ;D

No tabs being kept, just looked back at your old post about your engine.

But it RUNS, and wants to keep running far beyond where I wanted it to be, lol. Went a little nuts, and that's what scares my son (My daughter LOVES IT).

Haven't had the pump looked at, but I'm told by PO that it was set up with a stainless AA impeler with his hot rodded engine that's on my stand now. Can't veryify that, nor do I care at this point, >:D

I was thinking a loose nut behind the wheel, when that 50MPH wind hits you in the eyes, its hard to see either the tach or the GPS..... ;D   :o

Hi Ray, just funnin ya!  ;)

LMAO Phucking Glenn, LMAO!
You Kill me dude,

Ray

And the engine WILL do more RPM (A LOT more), just hadda lift everytime I tried one of these runs. I either run outta lake, smooth water, and/or balls every time I tried to GPS this thing. (I vote more on the balls end of it, I'm not as young as I once was)
