Ok guys let's hear them I'm waiting to name my boat but haven't thought of a good one I also don't know if their is a thread for this so sorry if their is

My grandpa bought this
1970 SleekCraft 19' boat/my boat 44years ago brand new and the whole boat was metallic purple, so it became the "purple turkey" and it actually never had a name on it until probably 10 years ago. Last year I had to give up the ALL purple and change it up so I did the boat white and left the bottom purple with purple accents.

She doesn't have a name as of yet but last week I was working on her a little bit and just happen to blurt out 'Rootbeer Float' since the brown is almost exactly rootbeer color... I guess I'll think of a name after she's painted but for now that's what I'm calling her

Its not bad karma to rename the boat. Just make sure all traces of the name are erased and destroyed

IMHO and as a former Horizon owner (named Plum Loco cuz it was metalflake purple) I hope you keep looking for a name. Actually I think Super Soaker ain't half bad. But the whole "whore . . ." route is just not working for me. And yeah tradition dictates that there is a "christening" process that must take place to ward off bad luck generated by a name change.

Ya I decided to stay with super soaker because that's what the kids came up with. When I first got it that's how no explained to them how the jet works and my oldest son said its like a squirt gun with some power. I think its kinda lime the bell and motorcycle thing

From 1976 up into the 90's we had a Plum Loco too. 1972 Horizon that was a grape purple metalflake. Loved that look so much we had it re-gelled. Bad choice kinda as we were promised a medium purple but got what literally bordered on Pepto Bismol pink. Twisted the guys arm to add a band of Ford blue around the outside edges of the deck and redid the interior in blues, grays, and purples. The men in the family hated it but the girls loved it. Everyone from Lost Lake to Aha and RR knew this boat and everywhere we went the girls wanted rides.
Sadly I don't think I have any digital pics. Geez was that boat pink.

I'm new around here but I was thinking of naming my boat Nauti Narañja or Miss Mandarina since Im a city of orange native and also the boat has some orange in it.

"Dream Weaver" <---sucks ass but the boat was named before I owned it, superstitious and didn't want to change it so I moved the name to the rear of the boat, right above the pump in Blue lettering on the blue base color just so it was still there.
