I don't know if it is ok to post a post as this, But my intentions are for no one to get hurt: So Brad or Ralph delete
if not ok.
I've gotta friend that HAD a neighbor out in Mohave Valley Az.
This guy was out there trying to start his boat in the garage.
His wife was turning the key, the guy was fueling the carb. with starting fluid endlessly.
Dang thing went up in flames killing them both. The explosion was horrible.
Please...never use starting fluid :thumbdown:

This is very important information that everyone should know!
If you find yourself needing to use starting fluid to get something going, don't use it excessively. If it doesn't bang off right away you have other issues (find them first).
I feel bad for the casualties, but hopefully it will help save someone elses life if they realize how dangerous starting fluid really is.

Not trelated but reminds me of another story from years ago. My neighbor worked at a place where he ran Bobcats. One of his friends went to the yard on a saturday to do a little welding on his dirt bike trailer. The guy was outside welding on the ramp side of his trailer. There was a waist oil (and whatever)tank under the slab his trailer was on. Well, when a spark found the vent pipe the tank came out of the ground. THey found the guy between his truck and traler on monday morning.

I found a new way to scare my self last night cleaning my boat. I was polishing my headers with some 0000 steel wool, and apparantly I touched the positive on the alt. Son-of-a....that shit blew into flames quick. I'm glad I didn't just adjust my floats or have any fuel leaks. I had no idea steel wool would burn.lol

WD-40 cans will do that too....but worse

Sorry to hear of the losses , Like most everything theres a time a place circumstances and responsible informed use , We routinely use all of these types of chemicals and materials and are probably guilty of taking them for granted , will definatley be more attentive to ether and the like use henceforth Tom
Kreg all metal "wools" will burn Magnesium wool (used in incindieray flares etc ) burns with hot intense fury !
