judging by the pics i saw that needs a serious wet sand and buff...red is the worst color for sun! if you want to just clean it up a little bit i would get the marine kit by meguires or this stuff called Buff Magic

how do i clean up this gel?

1. Use a good quality soap to wash it, I would use: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+GOLD+1
2. Dry it off completely with clean terry cloth towels.
3. Use a havey/medium cut cleaner to remove the oxidization, I would use: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.asp?T1=MEG+M0416
4. Follow that with a good polish like this:http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.asp?T1=MEG+SWIRL+16
5. Follow that with a good wax, I like this: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.asp?T1=MEG+YELLOW+16

If you're doing it by hand, use a good quality terry cloth applicator and remove with a clean microfiber towel, or a clean cloth diaper.
If you're using a rotary machine, use a good quality pad for each of the different stages of cleaning, that's one to cut, one to polish, one to wax.
I like these:
To cut: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.asp?T1=MEG+FOAM+8
To polish: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.asp?T1=MEG+PAD+8
To wax: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.asp?T1=MEG+FINISH+8

If you're using an orbital buffer, use wool to cut, terry cloth to polish, foam to wax.

Now, your interior needs some love too, here's what's worked for me in the past:

1. Get all the dirt off with a soft towel or brush.
2. Wash with Simple Green (mix @ 10:1 with warm water) use a good washcloth, sponge or Magic Eraser.
3. Dry the interior with a soft, clean towel.
4. If you can find saddle soap, use saddle soap or a good quality paste vinyl/leather conditioner to give the vinyl some life.
5. Follow it all up with a good quality conditioner, Armor All is as good as anything else, you just have to keep it up.

Enjoy your boat. Yes this may read like an ad for Meguiar's, trust me, I've spent a lot of time and money on shit products that didn't work, the products I've outlined above, with the steps I've laid out, WORK. Ask Ralph how shiny and smooth my gel is. This is going to take you the better part of a day, so get your supplies, get some cold beverages, a radio, put the boat in the shade and enjoy loving on your boat.

I'd listen to these guys! Nordie used some stuff on my Pickle at Mead i couldn't beleive. Couldn't find it here, but did get the Meguires Oxidation Remover and finishing polish. Worked TITS on this metalflake! Didn't EXACTLY follow the directions, used a variable speed angle grinder and a buffing bonnet.

Might work like that as well, but I know there was a rougher first step, then these 2 on the shelf at West Marine. Didn't go the first step, deemed it unnecessary.

Now RJ's busy with the Zephyr on all the aluminum, s/s and chrome, lol.

i dont see no one rocking it so whatever haha! honestly there is some good ones! ralph has 2 good ones, and glenn has an excellent one!

anyway good luck with whatever you decide filterbiz! if it were me i would go with skips advice! you'd be suprised....a big downfall is red is the the easiest fading color out there especially with Gel! anyway since the season has begun i would go with skips deal, and maybe in the winter months i would do a color sand...or look into a repaint

p.s. i love the look of the spectra 19's probably my favorite of em...unless its a v-drive
