Good luck. I've found that aspartine, the sweetner found in diet soft drinks, makes you really hungry (famished) . Don't do the diet stuff - you'll just eat more!

Hi Brad and Bob
good luck to you both.
i know that this is going to sound crazy as hell but one way to help you lose weight is to eat between 5-6 meal a day. now not got to McD`s or such but good smaller meals. eat breakfast, small snack around 9, lunch around 12, small snack at 2-3, dinner around 5-6 and maybe a small snack around8-9.
now i`m talking good meals and good snacks. for the snacks you could do either a smoothie or a protein bar, of course fruit or veggies is good also. and for lunch and dinner something good like chicken or fish or salad.
also working out will help. eating like that will actually help to speed up your metabolism. which in turn burns more fat.
just throwing in my .02
good luck guys.

All you gotta do is exercise cut off the sodas and dont mow down on huge meals. Limit yourself to smaller portions. Mixin in a salad or two wont kill you either.  ::)

This is no bs, several officers at work have tried this and lost weight big time without exercising. I want to try this, but just don't have the opportunity at work (I know bs excuse) I'm too busy during my shift. I'm lucky just to get a lunch break. I've lost weight though just by decreasing my portions. I was 295 at the dr two weeks ago and stepped on scale this am and weighed 286.0 so I'm going the right direction. Good luck guys!!!

Isn't that the body for life diet?  I think that you follow the eating regiment every day except Sunday.

Hey Kona
i don`t know about body for life. it is something that i read in men`s health magazines. also it is one of the things that i read in the Abs Diet. and no you don`t have to stick to it everyday.  you can "cheat" anytime you want. i tried this a couple of yrs ago and lost about 20 lbs in a month. i keep it off while i was doing this. then i went through a divorce and didn`t care anymore. needless to say i have gained that back plus some. i need to get back to this again myself. so i know from experience it does work. i also didn`t follow it everyday either but i did try to stick to it. you can make adjustments if you want and as far as cheating it is up to you. but with exercising you don`t lose when you cheat.

NO CARBS after 2pm!!!   Those of you who saw me at Parker know that I ain't no lightweight.  My BMI is over 30 (unrealistic stat for older guys but that is beside the point).  I am 60 pounds over what I weighed when I entered college.  BUT I work with two professional bodybuilders/dieticians who agree that six small meals, planned correctly is the way to go.  Skipping meals slows down your metabolism immediately.  Both of these guys eat a diet of mostly chicken or other meats with the correct veggies.  Check the carb content on everything, they hide sugars everywhere.  One easy change is an apple before every meal.  It takes up a lot of space in the stomach and doesn't have many calories.  Good luck guys.

Blackbeard,
That pretty much my routine during the week. The trick for me is to never get hungry. That just makes you over eat. Sometimes on the weekend it sucks because I will be out somewhere and my body wants food every 2 1/2 hours of so.

And lots of sex that burns calories as well.

Think I can convince my wife of that? ;D

Pretty much. I did that for the first 2 1/2 months this year. Felt better that I have in a while. 3 weight days in the gym and 3 cardio days every week. Kicked my ass but I felt great. Thats what I am back on now :screwy:

Off to the gym ;D

though this is NOT an "official weigh-in" .....i jumped on the scale this morning (remember, it wasnt the official scale)....and i was at 192.6lbs

i litterally havent had time to work out being i have been out of town mostly.....and being out of town and eating on the road its difficult to eat healthy.....BUT i had stuck true to my oath to no dr pepper.......roughly 8lbs in about 2 weeks  :o
