Just looking for some advice here . I'm looking at a "newer" boat . The wife really dosent care for my cruiser as much as I do . She hates the way it rides . So here's my question. When buying a used boat from a dealer that says they have been through the hole boat with all the checks and made sure every thing works and fixed what didn't work . What is the best way not get ripped off . I know what to look for in the older jets but this is an 2005 and not sure if I should pay a macanic to look at it...and not really sure how the dealer is gona act if I did so . By the way this is a full service boat dealer ..
Thanks in advance for any opinions and or advice.

So how long of a warranty would be normal to ask for on a 2005 boat ? It only has 125 hours on it .

You asked how not to get ripped off.
I would simply ask if they are going to back up what they say about the boat with a warranty.
10 year old boat, 125 hours is not a lot of use. If it was stored well and maintained then it shouldn't be risky.
What make & model? Some boats are built better than others.

Never been in the market for a newer boat .. and don't really know anything about them . It is a 2005 centioun avalanche. Yes wake board v-drive boat . It was bought at action and went through by dealer ... that's all I know . So I was just wondering what I should look for or ask for .
Thanks

If she hates the ride on your cruiser she's really going to hate the ride in that roll bar boat

We have friends that have similar boats and she likes them way better . They sit higher out of the water and handle chop better . That's the only reason I'm even considering it.

I don't know anything about those boats. Do your research.

I concur.
She also doesn't like the ride of your boat because of that other boat. ..lol.
If it was at an auction, it's probably got hidden problems. If they couldn't make the payments, they also couldn't afford the maintenence. ..
Just saying.
Don't buy ANYTHING without a full on test drive.
Check the fluids, especially the vee drive.
If they look super clean or super dirty, be afraid.
Also FYI, if you look under the dash at that boat, it would turn you off to it forever. Huge pile of crap as far as electrical system.
My good friends have a 2006 and I have virtually rewired the entire boat.
I did some work for Fineline years ago. One step up from a Bayliner imo.
Good luck

She's always hated my boat ... lol
But I guess that happens after 25 years of marriage.
But yha that's what I was kinda thinking also . They have came down on price big time with me and I even asked for extras and there willing to through them in . Just thought I would get some opinions. Was not gona make a $20,000 mistake because them she really wouldn't like my boat .
