Hey fellas,
These are the boats that I kind of have it narrowed down to plus one more that is a little more expensive but, would be a steal if it works out. I am just not sure where that one is going so keeping my options open. Those of you that chimed in on my last post (and first by the way) thanks alot. That boat turned out to be a P.O.S. so I am giving it another run. Goint to try to look at all of these on Thursday and Friday of this week. If any of you have any knowledge of them that would help me out I would appreciate it. Any other comments are welcomed and I will take them all on board. Thanks in advance and I am looking forward to the summer like you would not believe.

Here's my rankings.
1. The Carrerra in Ventura County would be my first choice. Carrerra makes good boats, and that one looks pretty clean.
2. The Ultra, looks like a good boat, but I like the Carrerra better ;)
3. Only if the above 2 really sucked, I might go look at the commander. Not a fan of commander boats, and the amount of bodies on that boat don't look like it was a once in a while deal.
-
Hey Skip, I missed it... Where does the Carrera fall into that mix? I really like that Carrera (except for the ammature interior). The browns keep it away from looking like, as Brad would say, a bag of skittles.

My .02 worth
They are all over priced but asking and getting are 2 diff things. I hate brown boats but I would rate them the same as Lucky did. Commanders are not nearly the quality that Carerras are and that engine compartment looks pretty clean, so it probably has been well cared for. The way that Commander is loaded down I bet it shows some wear and tear in person.

I acutally like brown boats, so my vote goes to the carerra, ask the guy for more pics before the drive if you can.
Good Luck!

Millionaire owner ??? Who is this guy? I'm looking at that driver's area and thinking the guy must have short or no legs and be really wide at the same time.
Pretty nice setup other than that tho. Under the hull has all the comforts of home and a sun lounge for the passenger plus a blown 500ci V-drive. Kinda funky looking all over but I bet it would be fun to spend time on the water with it.

Thanks Vegas. I appreciate you thinking about me. I don't think I want to get into a V-drive though. At least not yet. I found another boat that I am interested in. It's a Commander, I know that is not the favorite of some of you guys, in Temecula. Going to look tomorrow. What do ya think.

By the way, I still plan to go and look at that Carrera at a minimum on Friday and hope to look at the other two listed above as well, either tomorrow or Friday.

I saw that one a while ago, Good looking boat!

$10200. seems a little high, but offer low and let him decide how bad he wants to sell it. ;D
If he doesn't want to deal, keep looking, you'll find what you're looking for with a price thats right.

That is my thought exactly. I am in a hurry.......sort of. :-\ I just don't want to hurry up and take it in the ARSE! The guy with the Carrera seems to be pretty cool. He told me what B.O.A.T. stands for. I had never heard although i am sure you all have. Break Out Another Thousand. Pretty funny.

One thing I noticed that is important to how I boat, is that I see very little room for the storage of large ice chests or wakeboards/skis. The more people you carry and the farther you go, the more necessary it becomes to take lots of food and drink with you. Those ski lockers in the floor are not always that big and I don't know how you would position a full size ice chest so that it would not be in the way.
Also important, if you boat with kids or women is figure in the cost of a bimini cover if the boat doesn't already have one.
AND DO NOT BUY any boat without a test drive first. Elsinore, Silverwood, Puddingstone are all fine for that purpose and that is the smartest move you will make in buying a first boat IMO. Good luck.

Did you not see the whole "cuddy cabin" that boat had? Plenty of room for crap! I would bet that cabin has a shaggin bed in it also!

Thanks Vegas. I appreciate you thinking about me. I don't think I want to get into a V-drive though. At least not yet.
He ruled that one out. I read pretty gud. ;)

Settled on a pretty sweet Commander. I'll post pictures and specs once I pick it up and bring it home. Hopefully tomorrow. Thanks again for all the help and see you on the river.

Jimmy,
While I don't have the seat time as some of these folks, I have been around boats all my life, and last year I "settled" for a Commander too. While the manufacturer himself may or not be a little flaky, the boat has been awesome. Absolutely turnkey, and handles excellent. As some of the others said in their posts, it's mostly about how the boat has been treated. If any care has been given to your Commander at all, you prolly got yourself a gem! Enjoy.

Thanks for the info Steve. Aquaholic can attest to how well the boat has been taken care of. I love it. I got a great deal on it and I am stoked to be on the water.
