It is frightful that they died. But when  cop or a news man makes a mistake that does not constitute murder.

They're being charged with manslaughter, not murder; no one forced the news crew to film but it was the CRIMINAL that put them into that situation, thus manslaughter.
Your take on it is a little too liberal; doesn't seem to be the usual TEXAS viewpoint to me.

As usual it seems that my opinion doesn't match anyone's  ???  but it seems to me that if the copter pilots were paying attention to what the flock they were doing there wouldn't have been a crash, what they were filming is irrelavant to me.  ;)  The more that lawyers have gotten to shape this country the more B.S. there is in the legal system.

I was kind of thinking the same thing as you Rod . I always thought there were two people in the chopper. One flyin and the other filming . When I heard about on the TOM LYKIS show breifly , I thought " How the hell did that happen." Either way , sad . If these guys were up there filming news and not BS like a car chase , they'd probably still be around .  say fuk it ! Stick it to the sumbitch ! He obviously didnt care about anyones life around him .

It's all the gastapo mentality of law inforcment these days. They're all so brainwashed they think they're some kind of super hero/ supreme beings if you will. Like cofiscating your car if you move your weed in it, should they confiscate your shoes cuz you used them to move it, cut off your hands? Or sticking a gun in your face for a traffic stop, do it to them and see what happens, it's like they think THEY are the only ones on the planet who knows how to handle firearms. Communist pricks....and it's getting worse day by day.

Noone asked them to not payb attention to their job. I am prety conservative on most things but this trash with cops getting their lives tagged as highr\er priority than regular joes has to stop. I know these guys were not cops but in my opinion if they werent cops then they have zero business participating in a high speed chase any more than i would have a right to help on the ground.

Thats the job/risks they signed up for. How many days/weeks do you think they just flew around and did absolutly NOTHING!!! Whenever the risks they placed themslves in become a reality they expect a medal or parade or some shit. Criminals, you should be able to shoot them for property crimes, the "LAW" protects them!!!! For stealing a car, I think they should stay in jail till ALL costs and damages are paid for, @ 25 cents an hour. This guy prolly had nine priors and would have been out the next day if not for the "manslaughter" bullshit. So, it's not like they were out chasing a serial murderer or something. One pilot was just there to glamorize this crime for TV!!!

Briefly,

Were the two helicopter's that crashed caused by competition?

rumor has it that the channel 15 copter was reporting handling/control issues before the crash, and the channel 3 copter was up for the first time since having extensive repairs done to it, don't know it this had any thing to do with it, but you gotta wonder

Not only that but...

Do we really need to put every high speed chase on TV? Instant 15 minutes of fame (infamey). I guarantee that he brags about getting on TV to someone.

It's simple, you steal you lose your hands. How many thieves would we have and more importantly how many of them would be repeat offenders?  LMFAO  Problem with that is of course we'd have to pay them disability, SSI, welfare, health care, food stamps, replacement hooks for their hands, unemployement, and their attornies, etc, etc, etc...

I think it would be a better deterant to cut their hands off. That way other would-be theives see the ones that got caught walking around with no hands.

Want to kill yourself? Steal a candy bar (jus shoot 'em).

No matter what, as long as attornies are shaping this great country it will get worse.
