Title: Cornhole board project
Post by: sportinwood on June 18, 2014, 09:21:35 AM
Started a little project the last few days. Built them for my parents to keep out at the river house for entertainment. Matched a portion of their boat graphics and had the logo made.

My fiance sewed up the bags and father in law helped me out with building them.

Going to hand them over this weekend as a late fathers day gift!

Thanks. It was a precut 2'x4' piece I found at depot. Can't remember exact type of wood but it had a nice smooth finish. Put a white oil based paint down on it and it really made it nice.

If I decide to make another set I will continue this thread with some more detailed information on how I made them.

Bad ass, especially if your first go around.  Its my little side hobby building these, its how I keep gas in the Nordic.  Some recent sets of mine.

How much will you charge for a set to paint them?

Lot of variables go into it of course, just like building a boat, number of colors, complexity of design etc, but 95 out of 100 sets I do cost between 240 and 280, some a little less, some a bit more.  The winger set and the Hallett set were 260 for example, with bags.

Hey 5150,
Thanks for the interest, but I have tried this in the past and it didn't work out, I couldn't guarantee the quality result on someone elses wood quality and construction.  Glad to hear more people are playing in SoCal though, for a long time no one had even heard of it when I first started playing and building.

Thanks for the compliment, and nothing personal about only wanting to do my own sets, I am sure you do top notch work to, just a policy, and I know Sam can paint circles around me any day of the week.

Those boards are sick!! This has turned into our new neighborhood sport with a bunch of us beer clutchers getting down under the street lights   I want to get a Parker themed set with a bunch of the strip bar logos.
