I was at a customer's house on Lake Wylie in South Carolina to fix a door. Noticed she had a few boats tied up out back, asked if I may wander down the dock to have a look. She followed me out and I mentioned the upholstery was pretty far gone, she said she didn't think she could pay someone to haul it away.
I'm told it has 180 hrs on it. Boat is a 97 as well as the outboard. 50hp Honda four stroke. I noticed the battery cable housings were chewed up and bare cables touching each other. She said they went to use it one weekend and it didn't start... Hence the other new one.
I asked how much she wanted for it and she told me if I get rid of it by Saturday, (before her pool party) that I could have it for nothing. Now it's mine. Needs some work but there's not much to it. I rented a trailer from her neighbor and he towed me to his launch ramp and let me use the trailer to get it home for $100. That's all I've invested so far, waiting for the weekend to hear it run. I'm not thinking of trying to match paint and upholstery scheme for both boats.
