We had a crazy storm hit us last night. Uprooted trees, knocked down power lines, destroyed signs (a few of the old signs that have survived for years were ripped off the building with chunks of the building still attached!), and knocked out power (90 degrees with 37% humidity) making for a miserable night. 14,000 homes still without power today. Several homes and cars destroyed by falling trees. Temp reached 118 during the day and we had hail the size of a thumb. We were the lucky ones, our power stayed on all night. But all our kids lost power and we ended up with kids & grandkids at our house. My wife and I watched the lightning on our back patio till midnight. Got a pretty cool video of a lightning strike on my cell phone. I'm just glad all our kids are okay.

Glad to hear the family is ok. Our power flickered on and off three or four times from 4pm-730pm. Then it went out completely at 8pm and came back on at 1130pm or so. No damage to the house, just had to clean up my trash can full of beer/soda cans that blew down the street from the wind. For a second I thought I was gonna lose the tree in the front yard. At least it cooled off for a bit. Jared

I wonder if that was the same storm that came through my job site.. Were out in Mojave and it came out of nowhere, We got tons of rain and a ton of high winds with lightning. Hotel lady said it started 4 new fires in 20 minutes. Just a crazy day for weather!
