Custom Headers
« on: April 23, 2014, 12:01:00 PM »
So I decided to build another set of headers for my boat. These are a little different than the last set. Here are some pics. What you guys think?

Not that I know of or have seen. Would be cool if they did!

Thank you! For header building I purchase mandrel bent U-bends.  I have a JD2 bender that I use for building sand cars and roll cages but it won't bend these tight bends on 16ga. Tube

Okay, I was gonna say, those are super tight bends for a JD2, are you producing 1 off sets for order? Also where do you get your stuff coated?

I can build custom one off headers to what the buyer wants or I can duplicate this style header. I use Young Guns in Rancho Cucamonga since they are near where I work at.

There is a high temp clear powder coating that is getting done nowadays. It's something you could look into. It's weird too though, almost feels grippy to the touch but is a high temp coating.

Interesting!  I wonder what the temp rating is on it.

Ceramic is so nice, any stains or melted timing gun clamp smears disappear after a few minutes of cruising...
