Hassle Free Boating Vacations
« on: July 13, 2010, 07:30:58 AM »
This past weekend I was invited to Havasu by some of my non-boatin friends who mentioned they had a boat rented and rooms reserved in Havasu for my buddys 30th birthday. They did the math and figured out that for 8 people it was only $90/person for the weekend for the rooms and the boat rental - SWEET! Cheap weekend on the water!

For the boat rental, they went with a company based in Havasu called Hassle Free Boating Vacations. These guys were nothing but top notch and made sure nothing but a good time was had.

The boat was a 26' Chaparral with tons of storage, seated 14, and it was $350 for the day, included a full tank of gas and get this - a designated driver. I was initially skeptical about the driver deal. What if the guy is a jackass or rude or just a unsafe driver. This wasn't the case at all. It eased all of our mind that we could unwind and have a good time without worrying about making sure someone was sober to drive us back home.

Our driver Tray did more then any of us ever expected. He was on top of everything. Making sure the built in coolers were iced down, our beers were refilled and boat was in order. Beer empty? He was right there tossing you another. We spent most of the day at the sand bar, then headed down to Copper Canyon and ending our day hanging out in the channel.

I am not getting anything out of writing this company's review. I purely wish that there was more customer service based companys out there. These guys were top notch in every aspect and made for an exceptional time on the water. Thank you guys for the great times.

I wonder how the DD would deal with overly drunk out of control people? Looked like a good time!

Sounds like a great time. Do they do any houseboat rentals? We are thinking about doing a houseboat next year. It would be nice to go with a company like that. I have heard too many horror stories about houseboat rentals.

Talk about a dream job........

I have a good friend who "Captains" house boats for the novice boaters, he drives the boat where you want to go, then anchors it where you want and comes back in the morning to check on people...I think he works all summer and charges $150 a day, but says he always gets paid more....He also gets some money from the marinas because their boats don't come back all tore up. :sly:

The funny part of the story is he has a prosthetic leg and his name is Jack...LOL

Hey CHROMEY!  I hear your dream job calling bud...

Hence why I am still single. The day a female tells me I cant go to Vegas is the day I buy a boat with a prop!
