Title: Day cruiser build
Post by: jetpirate on November 26, 2011, 09:13:59 PM
I was thinking of putting together a mini day with a mildly built small block chevy and a berkley jet. Any thoughts on how this combo may work? I am just using some parts I have laying around, in a bit of a budget build. Uses would be towing the kids on a tube at the lake and cruising around the river. I was hoping to be able to top around 45-50. Any thoughts?

We beat a 400 small block Chevy without mercy for 18 years in a 18 ft. Horizon.  Not a daycruiser by any stretch but more fun than any neighborhood should be allowed to have.  First a 350 w/ a Z/28 crossram and single four for a few years then built a 400 sm.blk just because.  Burned a ton of fuel due to ungodly hours towing and skiing for a decade or two.  That motor got fantastic mileage and we would still go thru 100 gal. of gas on some weekends.
I say go for it but I'm just biased I guess.

That's what I'm looking for! I need to earn smiles, not race wins. Thanks for the input!
