dbag as west marine comes up to me to "help"...
« on: June 26, 2011, 08:19:30 PM »
im in the rope aisle and he says "can i help you so you dont sink your boat?"

was i wrong to get a little pissed off and respond with "nope im not a dumbass, thanks anyways"?

i literally had a dock line in my hand and 2 of those little bow clips with the spring on em....

anyways i didnt feel like putting a swim step on my boat so im putting 2 small rings on my stringer plate for the hooks to attach to, then the rope goes over the side to a pair of steps... basically a rope ladder so i can get back in without cutting my foot on my rideplate again.  should be pretty small and can fit under the seat and no cleats on the boat so i figured the stringer would be good as any place to put it.

but seriously who the hell comes up to help someone with an opener like that?

LOL! Mighta tried to be funny. When I was at HD I used to approach a LOT of people with "Ok, what'd ya break now?" or "Oh, I get it, you broke it now I gotta help ya fix it" All tongue in cheek and was taken as such......Other people would try that and I'd get customer complaints soooo........all in attitude......I wouldn't sweat it.....  Personally, I woulda replied "where the hell were ya a couple years ago?"........ :sly:

I'm a sarcastic guy myself so I know how to roll with most of what people dish out... this guy was dead serious.  I dunno maybe he assumed I was going to attach my boat to a dock with little clips that hold 300lbs...

I'm sure they see people doing a lot of stupid things... trying to cut corners, etc.
